Nearly 100 young people help villagers clear canals

(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of July 24, the Tam Thai Commune Youth Union (Tuong Duong) organized a dredging campaign to help the people of Na Tong, Can, Canh Trap, and Lung villages.

Due to the impact of storm No. 2, water from streams rose, the irrigation canal system was buried by rocks and soil, so it could not drain water, causing prolonged flooding. In order to overcome the consequences caused by the storm, Tam Thai Commune Youth Union mobilized 90 youth union members from 4 villages including Na Tong, Lung, Canh Trap, Can, to dredge canals in the 4 villages mentioned above. This is the irrigation canal system for dozens of hectares of rice fields of Tam Thai commune people.

With the spirit of volunteering of the youth, after 1 day of work, the entire canal system of 4 villages has been cleared, dredged and the flow has been cleared. The work of the youth union members to help people dredge the canals in the fields is very important, demonstrating the role of volunteering for the community of the youth to join hands in building new rural areas, as well as helping people develop production step by step to reduce poverty sustainably..
