Nearly 23 years in prison for couple who set up a drug trafficking den.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the afternoon of October 25th, the Nghe An Provincial People's Court held a first-instance criminal trial to hear the case against defendants Ho Dua Cho (born in 1970), residing in Huoi Tu commune, Ky Son district, and Lo Thi Mun (born in 1979), residing in Yen Tinh commune, Tuong Duong district, for the illegal trafficking of narcotics and illegal possession of military weapons.

Previously, the police in Tuong Duong district discovered a drug trafficking ring in the area, in which Ho Dua Cho and Lo Thi Mun were two individuals who had set up a shack, used firearms, and organized the illegal buying and selling of narcotics in the Pu Muong hill area, Na Cang village, Yen Tinh commune.
On June 7, 2016, a task force from the Tuong Duong District Police discovered Lo Thi Mun going out alone and immediately apprehended her. At the same time, a reconnaissance team advanced to Na Cang village to arrest Cho. Realizing they had been discovered, Ho Dua Cho attempted to flee but was unsuccessful. The seized evidence included 290 grams of heroin, 1,228 ecstasy pills, one AK rifle, 21 bullets, one motorbike, two mobile phones, and two small scales.
After considering the circumstances, the court sentenced Hờ Dúa Chò to 20 years in prison for illegal drug trafficking and 1 year in prison for illegal possession of military weapons. Combining the two crimes, Hờ Dúa Chò must serve a total of 21 years in prison. Lô Thị Mun received an 18-month prison sentence for illegal drug trafficking.
