Through screening, 207 children were indicated for surgery, including 53 children with congenital heart disease; 52 children with eye diseases, 47 children with cleft lip and palate, and 55 children with motor disabilities.
In addition to screening at the district health center, the medical team and doctors went to a number of kindergartens in mountainous and disadvantaged communes to provide free examinations for children.
This is the first screening examination for surgery for disabled children in 2017. The Provincial Children's Fund will compile a list of children who are scheduled for surgery and guide them in making a profile to call on benefactors to support free surgery costs.
