In the summer-autumn crop of 2019, Do Luong planted over 7,000 hectares of rice. Currently, many communes are still facing many difficulties in drought prevention such as: My Son, Giang Son Dong, Giang Son Tay, Bai Son, Dai Son.
Currently, Do Luong district has 560 hectares of summer-autumn rice in 13 communes severely affected by drought. Meanwhile, the water reserves in the dams have almost dried up by June 18. 43/79 dams have less than 30% of their water reserves, 23 dams have completely dried up. The cause of the drought is partly due to prolonged heat, partly due to the reservoirs being built a long time ago and not being regularly dredged, with a lot of sediment and little water reserves.
