Simultaneously, we will create breakthroughs in administrative reform, teacher training, career guidance, vocational training, and promoting overseas study; improve the quality of foreign language teaching; persistently implement innovations in educational activities and models; and contribute to improving the quality of human resources to meet the demands of the labor market and international integration.

In preparation for the opening ceremony of the 2017-2018 school year, the Department of Education and Training issued a directive on the format and organization of the event. Accordingly, the opening ceremony must be brief but solemn, lasting no more than 45 minutes. This year, the Department of Education and Training also requested that schools refrain from reporting on achievements during the opening ceremony.

In addition to the ceremonial part, the Department of Education and Training also encourages schools to organize a "festival" with healthy and fun group activities so that the first day of school is truly a significant and meaningful day for all students, especially those attending school for the first time.
