Meet the only girl from Nghe An who just received the Kim Dong Award.

(Baonghean.vn) - Tran Khanh Linh, a 5th grade student from Thanh Chuong Town Primary School, is one of 55 outstanding Youth Union leaders from across the country who received the Kim Dong Award from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union for the 2016-2017 school year, and is the only Youth Union leader in Nghe An province to receive this prestigious award.

Born into a family where both parents are teachers, Khanh Linh prioritized her education above all else. She has always strived to be a good child and an excellent student. Linh has brought joy to her family and teachers with her outstanding academic achievements and participation in extracurricular activities.

From grades 1 to 5, Khanh Linh was always an outstanding student at Thanh Chuong Town Primary School. From grades 3 to 5, Khanh Linh was a top performer in the school's team participating in district-level competitions for gifted students in subjects such as mathematics, English, Violympic, and online English.

To achieve such high results, my simple secret is: "In class, I pay close attention to the teachers' lectures. If I don't understand something, I confidently ask the teachers and my classmates so that I don't have any knowledge gaps. Thanks to this, when I get home, I don't spend much time reviewing, but instead focus on understanding and doing advanced exercises."

Not only is Khanh Linh diligent and academically excellent, but she is also an enthusiastic and dynamic class leader and student council leader. She has contributed to the strong development of the school's student council through movements such as "Speaking Kind Words, Doing Good Deeds," "Small Projects," "Helping Hands," the "Lighting Up Dreams" program, "Red Scarf Chicken Flock," and "Two Friends Progressing Together."

Every day, during the first 15 minutes of class for review, Linh and her fellow Red Star Team members go to each classroom to check on and remind students about hygiene, attire, and self-study habits. Linh has encouraged each team to form 2-3 pairs of students, with high-achieving students helping and tutoring weaker students... Through this, students improve their studies and foster a spirit of solidarity within the team.

For Khanh Linh, each activity is a fun experience, bringing her many beautiful memories. Furthermore, it helps her accumulate many skills such as teamwork, confidence in front of crowds, fluency in speaking, and communication skills… She especially learns how to manage her time effectively, balancing studying and playing, excelling in academics, participating fully in Youth Union activities, and pursuing her passion for dancing, singing folk songs, and being an MC.

Khánh Linh consistently impresses in school competitions, as well as in city and district-level celebratory programs, thanks to her eloquent hosting skills, sweet singing voice, and ability to lead and choreograph captivating and unique artistic performances.

Khánh Linh confided: “During my studies and activities with the Youth Union, I have many profound memories. But what I remember most is the Mid-Autumn Festival in 2016, when I participated in a charity dance and singing program in Ngọc Lâm commune, a poor mountainous commune in Thanh Chương district. I was deeply moved to witness the difficult and deprived lives of the children there.”

The young student hopes to participate in more volunteer programs so that she can have the opportunity to help her less fortunate peers.

Khánh Linh confided that her achievements, besides her own efforts, were also thanks to the support, encouragement, and care of her parents, the guidance and kindness of her teachers, and the affection of her friends. Khánh Linh shared that she will continue to contribute even more to the Youth Union, hoping that the Union will grow stronger and that all its members can develop their abilities through participating in Union activities. She hopes the school will dedicate more time to Union activities so that members feel comfortable immersing themselves in this beneficial environment.

When asked about her dreams, Khanh Linh expressed her desire to become a skilled doctor so she could treat patients with serious illnesses and those from disadvantaged backgrounds.

"My hometown is still very poor, and I feel sorry for many poor people who are sick but can't afford medical checkups or treatment. I only wish to contribute a small part of my efforts to bring smiles and healthy lives to everyone." Hopefully, with her talent and kind heart, this multi-talented girl will make her dream a reality.
