Meet the student who won first prize in national history
(Baonghean.vn) - Joy came to Ngu Thi Ha Trang, a 12C2 student at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted, on the last day of the new year when she received the news that she had won first prize in the National Excellent Student Competition in History. This is the second time Trang has achieved this title.
Upon receiving this result, the first person Trang wanted to dedicate it to was her grandfather, even though he did not live to see the day Trang “return home in glory to pay respect to her ancestors”. Remembering him, Trang often mentioned the day she took part in the national excellent student exam. At that time, Trang’s grandfather had just passed away for exactly one day.
Trang has lived with her grandfather since she was little, so this was a huge shock. However, overcoming her grief, Trang attended the exam with only one wish: "to win a high prize to please her grandfather." Today, that wish has come true.

In grade 9, after winning second prize in History at the Provincial Excellent Student Competition, Trang did not hesitate to continue enrolling in the History class at Phan Boi Chau High School for the Gifted. The main purpose was to continue nurturing her passion.
After enrolling, Trang realized that pursuing History is not entirely easy, especially when the biggest goal is the National Excellent Student Exam. However, here, Trang has a real environment to develop her abilities, especially because she has teachers who are very dedicated and devoted to their students.
Trang still remembers that when she was in 11th grade, not only Trang but also her teachers were under a lot of pressure to be on the national team of excellent students. However, at that time, Ms. Bui Thi Bich Hau - her homeroom teacher and also the head of the History training group for excellent students - had a lot of confidence in her.
Talking about her student, teacher Bich Hau said: Ngu Thi Ha Trang is a hard-working student, has good academic performance and is very obedient. Moreover, Trang is very persistent, the more difficult the situation, the more effort she makes.

Indeed, thanks to the school's trust, even though she was only in grade 11 and did not have much knowledge, Trang still brought surprise when she won second prize in the National Excellent Student Competition in 2016. In grade 12, when she was again selected for the National Excellent Student Team, Trang became more confident. However, there was also pressure on her performance.
Perhaps that is why when they heard the news about Trang's grandfather, the teachers were very worried. However, once again, Trang did not disappoint her teachers and family. Talking about this result, Trang happily said: I cannot describe my feelings. This success is not only mine but also that of my teachers, friends and family.
According to Trang, to study well and remember historical events, there is no other way than to study hard. Memorizing, writing down, drawing mind maps to systematize knowledge to help remember better is the method of Ngu Thi Ha Trang. If there is anything she does not understand, she should proactively ask her teacher for answers.
Besides, History is also a special subject, not only learning about events that happened in the past, but it is also related to the current situation. Therefore, in addition to the basic knowledge in the textbook program, I also regularly read documents, books, and watch TV to update and grasp current information at home and abroad.
The success of Ngu Thi Ha Trang and other members of the History team is also a good sign for the teaching and learning of History in high schools today. And more than ever, it shows that the love of the young generation for History has never waned.
