Meeting with former National Assembly representatives from Nghe An province.

(Baonghean.vn) - In anticipation of the 70th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 – January 6, 2016), on the morning of December 26, the Nghe An Provincial National Assembly Delegation held a meeting with National Assembly delegates from various periods.

Attending from the Central Government were Comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Commission; and comrades Phan Trung Ly - Chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee, Nguyen Duc Hien - Head of the People's Petition Committee of the National Assembly Standing Committee; and Nguyen Sy Dung - Deputy Head of the National Assembly Office.

Representing the province were comrades Nguyen Xuan Son – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Xuan Duong – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Council and People's Committee, leaders of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee, provincial departments and agencies, and former National Assembly delegates from the province.

Comrade Pham Van Tan - Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation - reviewed the 70-year history of the Vietnamese National Assembly and the contributions of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation in the 13th term, 2011-2016.

At the meeting, on behalf of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, Comrade Pham Van Tan – Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation – recalled the history of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946).

Since that momentous day, marking a historic milestone for the democratic system in our country, over the past 70 years of national development, the Vietnamese National Assembly has consistently reformed and clearly affirmed its role as the highest representative body of the people and the highest state power organ of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam through its legislative, supervisory, and decision-making activities on important national issues.

Comrade Phan Dinh Trac - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Commission - shared the experiences of the National Assembly delegates of the 13th term, and at the same time suggested that the National Assembly delegates elected to the 14th term should listen to the opinions of voters and the people in order to convey them in the National Assembly that truly reflect the breath of life.

The National Assembly's oversight activities have also been actively implemented. The questioning and answering sessions at National Assembly meetings have continued to be reformed and become increasingly practical. Parliamentary diplomacy has been strengthened, making a practical contribution to regional and international integration.

Along with the development of the Vietnamese National Assembly, the Nghe An Delegation of National Assembly Deputies has also actively contributed to fulfilling its duties before the National Assembly and voters nationwide, and has contributed to promoting socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the province.

Comrade Phan Trung Ly, member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly and Chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee, delivered a speech affirming the significant contributions of the National Assembly delegation to the National Assembly over the past terms.

National Assembly representative Bach Hung Dao - former Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - suggested that the Provincial Party Standing Committee should focus on directing the selection of individuals with the necessary qualifications, capabilities, and qualities to be included in the list of candidates for the National Assembly elections in Nghe An, ensuring that the new Provincial National Assembly Delegation operates more effectively.

Also at the meeting, comrades Phan Dinh Trac - Member of the Central Committee of the Party, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Central Internal Affairs Commission, Phan Trung Ly - Member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly's Law Committee, and National Assembly deputies from the province over the years, spoke about their experiences and activities, affirming the positive contributions of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation over each term, as well as expressing their hopes for the National Assembly Delegation and the National Assembly deputies of the 14th term, 2016-2021, to continue contributing to the National Assembly in general and Nghe An province in particular in the new era.

Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee - delivered a speech at the meeting.

Speaking at the meeting, on behalf of the provincial leadership, Comrade Nguyen Xuan Son – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee – highly appreciated the contributions of the Delegation and the National Assembly Deputies of Nghe An over the years to the development of the province.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also stated: Currently, the National Assembly is preparing for the election of deputies to the 14th National Assembly, term 2016-2021, and in light of the higher demands and requirements in socio-economic development, coupled with building a government apparatus that serves the people better and better, it is expected that the Provincial National Assembly Delegation and each National Assembly deputy will continue to play their role to make positive contributions to the development of the country and the province.

Provincial leaders were awarded the "For the Cause of Serving the Activities of the National Assembly" commemorative medal.

This includes focusing on organizing consultations on draft laws, providing a scientific and practical basis for lawmaking, and bringing laws into practice. Regularly monitoring the socio-economic situation of the province to contribute relevant opinions to the National Assembly in deciding important national issues.

Innovate and improve the quality and effectiveness of voter outreach activities, promptly reflecting the thoughts, aspirations, and legitimate recommendations of voters, sectors, and levels of the province to the National Assembly, the Government, and central ministries and agencies.

The Head of the Office of the Delegation of National Assembly Deputies and the Provincial People's Council was awarded the "For the Cause of Serving the Activities of the National Assembly" commemorative medal.

Actively participate in the National Assembly's foreign affairs activities to help Nghe An expand its international relations. Effectively fulfill the role of a bridge between the locality and the National Assembly, proposing to central ministries and agencies mechanisms, policies, and necessary resources for the province in implementing Resolution 26 of the Politburo, and ensuring Nghe An's sustainable development in the coming period.

On this occasion, the National Assembly Office awarded the Commemorative Medal for "Service to the National Assembly" to 13 provincial leaders and the Office of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies and Provincial People's Council.
