Meeting and discussion to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the establishment and development of the Academy of Finance.
(Baonghean.vn) - On the morning of November 5th, in Vinh City, the Academy of Finance organized a meeting and discussion between the Academy's leaders, teachers, and former students and trainees from the Central region.
Attending the event on behalf of the Academy of Finance were Assoc. Prof. Dr., People's Teacher Nguyen Trong Co - Secretary of the Party Committee, Director of the Academy of Finance; Dr. Nguyen Dao Tung - Chairman of the School Council and the Deputy Directors of the Academy...
Representing Nghe An province were: Mr. Nguyen Van Thong – Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Bui Thanh An – Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; and leaders of departments and agencies in the province, along with former students and trainees from the Central region (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Ha Tinh, Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam and Quang Ngai).
The Academy of Finance, formerly the Central School of Financial Cadres and Hanoi University of Finance and Accounting, was established in 1963. In 2023, the Academy of Finance celebrated its 60th anniversary. As part of a series of activities commemorating its 60 years of development, the Academy of Finance organized a reunion between its leaders, faculty, and alumni from the Central region.
At the ceremony, Associate Professor, Doctor, People's Teacher Nguyen Trong Co – Secretary of the Party Committee and Director of the Academy of Finance, stated: The Academy always strives for innovation and creativity, creating an open and international academic environment, to always be a reliable address for "Attracting talent - Cultivating character - Perfecting personality - Developing human resources".
By 2030, the Academy of Finance aims to become one of the leading multidisciplinary universities in Vietnam, the region, and internationally, with a combined focus on basic research, applied research, and implementation. It will be capable of training and providing high-quality human resources and services in the fields of finance, accounting, economics, administration and management, information technology, etc., meeting the needs and demands of society in the context of increasingly deep global integration.
Speaking at the ceremony, Comrade Bui Thanh An – Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee – congratulated the generations of teachers, staff, and students of the Academy of Finance on the occasion of its 60th anniversary of establishment and development.
For Nghe An province, a province with a rich cultural, historical, and revolutionary heritage, always proud of its tradition of valuing education, thousands of students and trainees trained at the Academy of Finance have returned to work in the locality over the years. These generations of students and trainees have been and are actively contributing to the socio-economic development of the province.
Many former students and trainees have held and are currently holding key positions in the leadership of Nghe An province, its departments and agencies, and many leaders of agencies, units, and businesses located in the province. These individuals have effectively applied the knowledge and skills acquired at the Academy of Finance to advise and consult on the development of mechanisms and policies for the Nghe An provincial leadership, actively implementing socio-economic development activities. This has helped Nghe An overcome difficulties and become one of the most developed provinces in the Central region.
The meeting and discussion program celebrating 60 years of the establishment and development of the Academy of Finance took place in a solemn and warm atmosphere; honoring and expressing gratitude to generations of teachers and the contributions of the Academy, its alumni, and students to the country. This was also an opportunity to offer suggestions and assistance to help the Academy of Finance develop even more strongly, worthy of its rich tradition as a renowned training center in the field of finance and accounting nationwide.
