After committing the crime, he fled to the sea to raise fish, but he still couldn't escape.
Just four days after issuing an arrest warrant for Nguyen Hoai Thuong (born in 1997, temporarily residing in Ward 9, Duong Dong, Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, An Giang Province) for the crime of "Destruction of Property," using professional investigative methods, on the afternoon of May 28th, the Office of the Criminal Investigation Agency of the An Giang Provincial Police, in coordination with the Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone Police, arrested Thuong while he was hiding and raising fish at sea.
According to the case file, at approximately 2:00 AM on March 15, 2025, Thuong was walking back to his rented room in Ward 9, Duong Dong, Phu Quoc Special Economic Zone, An Giang Province, when he passed by Mr. PVV's house and saw a Honda Winner X motorcycle parked in the front yard. Recalling a previous conflict between himself and Mr. V, Thuong became angry and decided to burn Mr. V's motorcycle as revenge.
To carry out the plan, Thuong went back to his rented room, siphoned gasoline from his motorbike into a bottle, then returned to pour it onto Mr. V.'s motorbike, used a lighter to set it on fire, and left the scene. Mr. V., who was sleeping inside his house, discovered the motorbike was on fire and shouted for help, then, along with others, put out the fire. Afterwards, Mr. V. went to the police station to report the incident.
When she realized the crime had been exposed, Thuong went to the police to surrender and admitted to all of her illegal actions.
After the investigation concluded and the case was transferred to the People's Procuracy for prosecution, Thuong fled the area. On May 25, 2026, the Criminal Investigation Department of the An Giang Provincial Police issued a wanted notice for Thuong for the crime of "Destruction of Property".
