World silver price today, April 10, 2026
The spot price of silver on the world market on the morning of April 10th (Vietnam time) reached 75.25–75.45 USD/ounce, an increase of 1.40% compared to the 73.65–73.85 USD/ounce range of the previous session. Converted at the current exchange rate, this price is equivalent to approximately 1,977,000–1,982,000 VND/ounce.
Earlier, silver prices briefly touched the $76.50–$77.18/ounce range—the highest level of the week—before correcting slightly to around $75. The May silver futures contract also rose more than 6%, reflecting a rapid return of speculative capital. At the beginning of the week, silver prices remained in a lower range of $71.83–$73.55/ounce, indicating significant volatility during the week.
Reasons for the sharp increase in silver prices.
Silver prices rose today due to a combination of three main factors. First, tensions in the Middle East continue to escalate as the ceasefire between the US and Iran remains fragile. The closure of the Strait of Hormuz has increased concerns about disruptions to global energy supplies. US President Donald Trump warned of the risk of a sharp escalation if Iran rejects the agreement, driving capital flows into safe-haven assets such as silver and gold.
Secondly, the weakening US dollar has directly supported silver prices, as silver is priced in USD. When the greenback falls, the price of silver in other currencies becomes cheaper, stimulating buying demand.
Third, the market is awaiting a series of key US inflation data. The personal income and expenditure report forecasts that the PCE price index — the Fed’s preferred measure of inflation — will rise 0.4% in February 2026 compared to the previous month, higher than the 0.3% increase in January. The core PCE index (excluding food and energy) is also forecast to rise 0.4%. On an annual basis, overall PCE inflation is likely to remain at 2.8%, with core inflation expected at 3% — still significantly higher than the Fed’s 2% target.
Forecast for silver prices in the near future.
According to analysis from Kitco, the precious metals market is heating up again as the US dollar weakens and expectations of monetary policy adjustments gradually form. Expert Jim Wyckoff assesses that the temporary ceasefire agreement between the US and Iran has helped to de-escalate the risk of further escalation, leading to easing inflationary pressure from energy prices, creating a significant psychological boost for capital flowing back into gold and silver.
However, the upward momentum still faces significant obstacles. High global interest rates, particularly in the US, continue to be a substantial drag on precious metals—a non-yielding asset class. This factor makes it difficult for silver prices to break out of a long-term uptrend in the short term.
Technically, in the May silver futures market, the nearest resistance level is the weekly high of around $77.8/ounce, followed by the psychological mark of $80/ounce. On the support side, key levels are $72.5/ounce and the weekly low of $69.78/ounce. Buyers are aiming to push the price above $80/ounce, while sellers are targeting a move back to the March low of $61.21/ounce.
In summary, the price of silver today, April 10, 2026, in the world reached $75.25–$75.45 per ounce, an increase of 1.40%. In Vietnam, the price of silver fluctuated between VND 2,414,000–VND 2,870,000 per tael depending on the type and system, showing mixed trends due to market caution after a strong surge. Middle East tensions, a weakening US dollar, and inflation expectations continue to support silver prices, but high interest rates remain an obstacle to sustainable growth.
