World silver prices surge, nearing historical highs.
On the morning of October 13th, the global precious metals market witnessed significant volatility as the price of silver surged from the very first hours of trading.
At 9:00 AM Vietnam time, the world price of silver reached $50.88 per ounce, a 1.74% increase compared to the end of last week's trading session. This is a record high, surpassing the peak set in 2011 and marking an unprecedented milestone in the history of silver prices.
Despite warnings about a potential short-term correction, silver prices maintained a strong upward trend, mirroring the rise in gold prices. At the same time, world gold prices surpassed $4,053 per ounce, increasing by $35 in just one trading session.
The rising global silver prices quickly spread to the domestic market. Since last weekend, several major brands, such as Phu Quy, have temporarily suspended accepting new orders for silver bars and ingots, in order to focus all their resources on producing and fulfilling existing contracts.
According to the company, current production capacity only meets a few hundred taels per day, far too small compared to the rapidly increasing demand. At many branches, customers have to queue to buy silver, especially in the morning when demand is highest.
At current trading levels, the world price of silver, converted using the domestic exchange rate, is equivalent to approximately 1.62 million VND per tael.
