Silver price today, December 16, 2025: Strong breakout at the end of the year.
Silver prices surged on December 16th, with the global market maintaining its upward trend and the domestic market recording significant increases across many brands.
World silver prices opened higher.
This morning (December 16), the spot price of silver in the Asian market opened at $64.09 per ounce, up 3.35% (equivalent to $2.07) from the previous trading session ($62.01 per ounce).
This precious metal is entering a rare bull cycle. Since the beginning of the year, the price of silver has increased by nearly 115%, a growth rate far exceeding that of gold. This growth is due to a combination of limited supply and its increasingly important dual role: both as an essential industrial metal and as a store of value.
Many experts predict that strong demand from emerging industries such as solar energy, electric vehicles, data infrastructure, and Artificial Intelligence (AI) will continue to drive up silver prices at least until 2030. Analysts even predict that silver prices could reach triple digits by 2026, despite short-term fluctuations.

The gold-silver ratio has fallen sharply to around 68, the lowest level since 2021. This suggests that silver still has significant room for growth compared to gold.
Compared to its historical average of around 66, and especially the periods of strong growth that have pushed this ratio below 40, silver is currently considered undervalued. This is a factor that investors consider when assessing the long-term potential of silver prices.
Phu Quy silver prices surge domestically.
In the Vietnamese market, silver prices have also seen significant positive fluctuations.
Phu Quy's silver price per kilogram traded at 63.946 million VND/kg for buying and 65.919 million VND/kg for selling early on December 16th. This represents a sharp increase of 1.840 million VND/kg (buying) and 1.893 million VND/kg (selling) compared to the previous trading session.
The price of Ancarat 999 silver bars in 2024 also increased to 71,000 VND/ounce (buying price) and 73,000 VND/ounce (selling price).
Sacombank's Kim Phuc Loc SBJ 999 silver bar brand has listed a slight decrease of 3,000 VND/ounce in the price of silver for both buying and selling.
The difference between the buying and selling price of Phu Quy silver (1kg) is currently 1.973 million VND/kg.
