Today, December 24th, the price of silver in the global market has broken through the $72/ounce mark for the first time in history, causing the price of silver bars in Vietnam at Ancarat and Phu Quy to increase by up to 3.6 million VND/kg, establishing a new price level above 74 million VND.
Global silver prices set a new record, becoming the world's fourth-largest asset.
On the Kitco exchange, the spot price of silver surged by another $2.66 this morning, reaching a historical high of $72.3 per ounce – a price that propelled silver past many major assets to become the 4th largest asset by market capitalization globally, driven by the "thirst" for silver from the electronics and clean energy industries.
This explosive surge was triggered by the confluence of three macroeconomic factors: the DXY index plummeting to 97.9 points due to expectations of Fed monetary easing; escalating geopolitical tensions between the US and Venezuela fueling safe-haven flows; and the iShares Silver Trust ETF aggressively accumulating holdings, raising its holdings to over 16,500 tons amidst a physical supply deficit for the fifth consecutive year.
Managed Money investors are demonstrating absolute confidence in the medium-term uptrend by maintaining a net long position of nearly 22,000 contracts on the COMEX exchange, despite the risk of a short-term technical correction.
Ancarat silver and Phu Quy silver prices break records, reaching 74 million VND.
At the opening of the trading session on December 24th, Ancarat Precious Metals Company immediately adjusted the price of 2025 silver ingots (1kg) with a shocking increase of 3.53 - 3.68 million VND/kg, bringing the listed price to a record high of 72.4 - 74.64 million VND/kg; at the same time, it raised the price of silver bars by 100,000 VND per tael, trading at 2.71 - 2.79 million VND/tael.
In line with the sharp increase, Phu Quy Group listed 999 silver bars at 72.61 - 74.85 million VND/kg, an increase of approximately 2.8 million VND/kg compared to yesterday, while Sacombank-SBJ maintained stable silver bar prices around 2.71 - 2.78 million VND/ounce.
