Silver prices surged today, May 8, 2026, with Phu Quy, DOJI, and SBJ silver bars all reaching 82 million VND/kg, and world silver prices rising 2.09% to 79.92 USD/ounce.

Silver prices rose sharply today in the bullion segment.

Today, May 8, 2026, silver prices recorded an impressive increase in the silver bullion segment, with many major brands simultaneously reaching the 82 million VND/kg mark. This strong upward trend stems from the positive influence of rising global silver prices, providing impetus for domestic physical silver brands to establish new price levels.

Phu Quy 999 silver bars led the increase, adding 1.52 million VND/kg on the buying side and 1.546 million VND/kg on the selling side, bringing the price to 80.479 – 82.959 million VND/kg. DOJI 99.9 silver bars increased by as much as 2.111 million VND/kg on the buying side and 1.547 million VND/kg on the selling side, currently at 80.480 – 82.960 million VND/kg – approaching the 83 million VND/kg mark.

Ancarat silver bars (2025) increased by 1.294 – 1.334 million VND/kg, bringing the price to 79.144 million VND/kg (buying) and 81.554 million VND/kg (selling). Sacombank's Kim-Phuc-Loc SBJ 999 silver bars also surged with an increase of 2 million VND/kg in both directions, officially reaching the 82 million mark at 79.680 – 82.080 million VND/kg.

Prices of silver bars from all brands have increased simultaneously.

In the silver bar segment, major brands recorded upward adjustments ranging from 49,000 to 75,000 VND per tael. Phu Quy 999 and DOJI 99.9 silver bars were both listed at 3.018 million VND/tael (buying price) and 3.111 million VND/tael (selling price), an increase of 57,000 – 58,000 VND/tael compared to the May 7th session.

Ancarat silver bars (2024 model, 1 tael) increased by 49,000 – 50,000 VND/tael, currently trading at 3.003 million VND/tael (buying price) and 3.077 million VND/tael (selling price). Sacombank's Kim – Phuc – Loc SBJ 999 silver bars recorded the strongest increase in the segment, rising by 75,000 VND in both directions, standing at 2.988 – 3.078 million VND/tael.

World silver prices rose 2.09% to $79.92 per ounce.

According to Kitco at 9:13 AM (Vietnam time) on May 8, 2026, the spot price of silver reached $79.92 per ounce, an increase of $1.64, or 2.09%, compared to the previous session. Converted to other units, the price of silver is approximately $2.57 per gram and $2,569.83 per kilogram.

Data from Investing shows silver futures reached $80.625 per ounce, up $0.445 or 0.56%. Silver futures surpassing the $80 per ounce mark reinforces a positive short-term outlook. Earlier in the US session, spot silver briefly rose to $81.150 per ounce, up 5.06% for the session.

Factors supporting today's silver price

According to Kitco, silver prices surged due to falling crude oil prices, a weakening US dollar, and declining Treasury yields. Traders are anticipating progress toward an agreement between the US and Iran that could reopen the Strait of Hormuz. WTI crude fell $3.23 to $91.85 per barrel, while Brent crude fell $3.30 to $97.97 per barrel.

The US dollar index DXY fell 0.15% to around 97.88 points, while the yield on 10-year US Treasury bonds traded around 4.3%. Initial jobless claims rose to 200,000 in the week ending May 2nd, lower than the forecast of 205,000. The ADP private sector jobs report showed 109,000 jobs added in April – the fastest pace since January 2025.

The next upside price target for spot silver buyers is to break through the resistance zone of $81.81 – $82.50/ounce. If this zone is breached, the next target is $84.00/ounce. The next downside price target for sellers is to break through the $73.14/ounce level, with further targets at $72.00 and $70.90/ounce.

The first resistance level is at $81.81/ounce, followed by $82.50/ounce. The next support level is at $73.14/ounce and then $72.00/ounce. The current price range for spot silver is close to the first resistance level, which is a key point to watch for in the upcoming trading session.
