Expert Nguyen Quang Binh noted that the coffee market became quiet at the end of the week as speculators on the exchange showed caution ahead of international trade negotiations.

Despite domestic fluctuations, Vietnam's coffee industry recorded positive results in the first four months of 2025. According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment, coffee export turnover reached US$3.8 billion, a 52% increase compared to the same period last year. The main driving force behind this growth was the sharp increase in average export prices.

Currently, the average export price of coffee has reached nearly $5,700 per ton, a 67.5% increase compared to the same period last year and the highest level in many years. This result clearly reflects the efforts to improve product quality and shows that the Vietnamese coffee brand is increasingly recognized internationally.

US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said the general 10% tariff will remain in place for countries with a balanced trade balance with the US, while those with a surplus will face higher tariffs.
