Meanwhile, in Lam Dong province, coffee prices increased sharply by 2200 VND/kg, reaching 123,700 VND/kg.

The coffee market closed the trading week with a strong upward trend on both major exchanges, supported by a weakening US dollar and concerns about supply shortages.
The US dollar continued its sharp decline as retaliatory import tariffs between countries eroded investor confidence in the USD's safety. As of early morning on April 13th, the US Dollar Index (DXY), which reflects the strength of the USD against six other major currencies, had fallen sharply by 1.08% to 99.78. This is the lowest level in a decade against the Swiss franc and the lowest in three years against the euro.
Expert Nguyen Quang Binh believes that the sharp decline in coffee exports from Brazil, combined with low inventory levels on the London exchange, has encouraged speculators to return to the market, driving coffee prices up sharply in recent sessions.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market have risen again on both exchanges:
Robusta coffee (London):
May 2025 delivery: Increased by $162/ton, to $5099/ton.
July 2025 delivery: Increased by $153/ton, to $5049/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):
May 2025 delivery: Up 14.85 cents/lb, to 357.7 cents/lb.
July 2025 delivery: Up 12 cents/lb, to 353.6 cents/lb.
Coffee prices on the market have risen consecutively in recent sessions due to concerns about global supply. According to data from the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association (Cecafe), green coffee exports from the country in March 2025 reached only 2.95 million bags, a decrease of 26% compared to the same period last year.
For robusta coffee, supply pressure is even more apparent as ICE-monitored certified inventories fell to their lowest level in six weeks, at just 4,253 shipments on April 11th. This indicates a serious shortage of robusta coffee in the market.
Another important factor was US President Donald Trump's announcement of a 90-day temporary suspension of retaliatory tariffs on 75 markets. This move eased trade tensions and had a clearly positive effect on investor sentiment, contributing to the recovery of coffee prices in the international market.
