Coffee prices today, October 14, 2025: Expectations of price increase.
Coffee prices today, October 14th, are at 113,000 - 114,000 VND/kg, with many farmers still expecting prices to continue rising in the near future. Robusta is currently more popular than Arabica.
World coffee prices today
At the close of trading on October 13th, the price of robusta coffee futures for November 2025 delivery on the London exchange reached $4560 per ton, up 1.79% ($80 per ton) from the previous trading session. The January 2026 futures contract increased by 1.66% ($73 per ton), reaching $4464 per ton.
On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for December 2025 delivery also increased by 2.28% (8.5 US cents/pound) compared to the previous session, reaching 381.55 US cents/pound. The March 2026 contract increased by 2.02% (7.2 US cents/pound), reaching 363.55 US cents/pound.
According to the International Coffee Organization (ICO), the global coffee price index (I-CIP) in September averaged 324.6 US cents per pound, up 9.3% from August and 25.4% higher than the same period in 2024. This is the highest price since May, although still lower than the peak of 354.3 US cents per pound recorded in February.
Brazilian arabica coffee led the rally with a sharp increase of 11.3%, reaching 374.9 US cents/pound. Colombian arabica and other arabica varieties also rose by 10.1% and 9.3% respectively, averaging 403.8 and 400.2 US cents/pound. Robusta, however, recorded a more modest increase of approximately 5.9%, equivalent to 210.9 US cents/pound.
On international exchanges, coffee prices continued to fluctuate sharply. At ICE London, robusta prices rose 8.9%, reaching 197.6 US cents/pound. Meanwhile, on ICE New York, arabica prices surged 11.5%, to 366.3 US cents/pound. The price difference between the two exchanges widened further by 14.7%, reaching 168.8 US cents/pound in September.
According to the ICO, the global coffee price index rose sharply in the first half of September, peaking at 360.7 US cents/pound on September 15th, before declining slightly towards the end of the month. As of September 30th, the closing price was 314.6 US cents/pound, which also marks the end of the 2024–2025 coffee crop year.
This development indicates that world coffee prices are in a period of significant volatility, with tight supply in key producing countries such as Brazil and Colombia, while consumption demand continues to increase in many regions. The upward trend in coffee prices could continue into the beginning of the fourth quarter if unfavorable weather affects the new harvest season.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, October 14, 2025, remain unchanged compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 113,000 and 114,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in the former Dak Nong region are buying coffee at the highest price of 114,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province remains unchanged from yesterday at 113,800 VND/kg.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province remained unchanged compared to yesterday, trading at 113,500 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, coffee prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday, at 113,000 VND/kg.
Domestically, coffee prices are currently fluctuating around 113,800 VND/kg, and many farmers still expect prices to continue rising in the near future. Although this price is considered relatively good compared to the same period last year, it is still lower than coffee growers' expectations.
Previously, during the recent harvest season, coffee prices remained stable around 130,000 VND/kg for a long period, helping farmers achieve high profits.
According to the production cycle, Vietnam's coffee harvest season usually begins in October and lasts until January of the following year, with the peak occurring in November and December. Currently, farmers are just beginning to selectively harvest, mainly selling fresh coffee to dealers for drying, in preparation for the main harvest season.
Typically, coffee prices tend to fall during the peak harvest season due to a surge in supply. However, this year the market is showing several different signs. Experts predict that coffee prices may remain stable or increase slightly, thanks to Robusta coffee becoming more popular than Arabica due to its lower price and limited supply from some major producing countries.
According to analysts, domestic coffee prices this week are likely to remain fluctuating between 110,000 and 116,000 VND/kg, depending on the region and the USD/VND exchange rate. Although the market has slowed down somewhat, this is considered a natural correction phase after a prolonged period of rapid price increases.
