Coffee prices today, March 14, 2025: Slight decrease, risks lurking.
Domestic coffee prices today, March 14th, are at 131,000 - 133,000 VND/kg. Prices have decreased slightly by 1000 - 1500 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The price adjustment is driven by easing concerns about supply and an increase in ICE (Irish National Ice and Coffee) inventories.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, March 14, 2025, increased sharply compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 131,000 and 133,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at a maximum price of 133,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 133,000 VND/kg, a slight decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased slightly by 1000 VND/kg and are trading at 132,800 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee decreased by 1500 VND/kg and is now at 131,000 VND/kg.
In February 2025, Vietnam's coffee exports reached 169.8 thousand tons, valued at US$964.3 million, a sharp increase of 26.7% in volume and 32.2% in value compared to January 2025. Compared to the same period in 2024, export volume increased by 6.9%, while value surged by 82.6%.
In the first two months of 2025, coffee exports reached 309.5 thousand tons, valued at $1.72 billion. Although the volume decreased by 22%, the value increased by 37.2% compared to the same period in 2024, thanks to a sharp rise in export prices.
Vietnam's major export markets, such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and South Korea, all recorded positive growth.
2024 marked a successful year for Vietnam's coffee industry, with export value exceeding US$5.4 billion, thanks to a sharp increase in coffee prices. Total exports reached 1.32 million tons, bringing in US$5.48 billion, a decrease of 18.8% in volume but an increase of 29.1% in value compared to 2023.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market are also subject to many fluctuations:
Robusta coffee (London):
Delivery in May 2025: Decreased by $18/ton, to $5,490/ton.
July 2025 delivery: Down $14/ton, to $5,470/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):
May 2025 delivery: Down 0.8 cents/lb, to 385.95 cents/lb.
July 2025 delivery: Up 0.05 cents/lb, to 378.6 cents/lb.
Inflows of Arabica coffee monitored by ICE rose to a one-week high of 803,032 bags, while Robusta also reached a one-month high of 4,356 lots. This eased supply concerns, potentially leading to a short-term downward trend in coffee prices.
However, drought conditions in Brazil remain a major risk factor. In 2024, extreme weather affected Arabica production, and if the drought continues, the 2025 crop could be severely impacted. According to Pine Agronegocios, if rainfall does not improve, soil moisture will drop to record lows, threatening the development of flower buds and leading to a decline in yield in 2026.
In Southeast Asia, increased rainfall has improved soil moisture but has also led to delayed harvests in some key growing regions.
Although coffee prices are trending downwards due to increased inventories, the volatile global coffee market remains a potential source of uncertainty given the unstable weather conditions in Brazil.
