In February 2025, Vietnam's coffee exports reached 169.8 thousand tons, worth 964.3 million USD, a sharp increase of 26.7% in volume and 32.2% in value compared to January 2025. Compared to the same period in 2024, export volume increased by 6.9%, while value increased dramatically by 82.6%.

In the first two months of 2025, coffee exports reached 309,500 tons, worth 1.72 billion USD. Although down 22% in volume, they increased 37.2% in value compared to the same period in 2024, thanks to a sharp increase in export prices.

Vietnam's major export markets such as Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and South Korea all recorded positive growth.

2024 marks a successful year for the Vietnamese coffee industry as export value exceeds 5.4 billion USD, thanks to a sharp increase in coffee prices. Total export volume reaches 1.32 million tons, bringing in 5.48 billion USD, down 18.8% in volume but up 29.1% in value compared to 2023.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market also fluctuate:

Robusta Coffee (London):

Delivery in May 2025: Down 18 USD/ton, to 5,490 USD/ton.

Delivery in July 2025: Down 14 USD/ton, to 5,470 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

May 2025 delivery: Down 0.8 cents/lb, to 385.95 cents/lb.

July 2025 delivery: Up 0.05 cent/lb, to 378.6 cent/lb.

ICE-monitored Arabica shipments rose to a one-week high of 803,032 bags, while Robusta also hit a one-month high of 4,356 lots. This helped ease supply concerns, which could send coffee prices lower in the short term.

However, drought conditions in Brazil remain a major risk factor. Severe weather affected Arabica production in 2024, and if the drought continues, the 2025 crop could be severely affected. If rainfall does not improve, soil moisture will drop to record lows, threatening flower bud development and leading to a yield decline in 2026, according to Pine Agronegócios.

In Southeast Asia, increased rainfall has improved soil moisture but has delayed harvests in some key growing areas.

Although coffee prices are showing signs of adjustment due to increased inventories, the world coffee market is still volatile due to unstable weather conditions in Brazil.
