Coffee price today May 15, 2025: Strong increase again
Today's domestic coffee price, May 15, is at 128,000 - 128,500 VND/kg. Domestic coffee prices have increased sharply again, from 2,400 to 2,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Coffee prices are still supported by some risk factors, especially the drought in Brazil.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices today, May 15, 2025, in the Central Highlands region increased sharply again compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 128,000 - 128,500 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 128,500 VND/kg. A sharp increase of 2,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, coffee price in Dak Lak province is 128,500 VND/kg, an increase of 2,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by VND2,400/kg and were traded at VND128,400/kg.
In Lam Dong province, coffee prices increased by VND2,500/kg and reached VND128,000/kg.
One positive development is that Vietnam was added to the list of countries that can deliver under the “C” Coffee Futures Contract from April 1, with a shipment of 37,500 pounds of arabica. This increases flexibility in the global coffee supply chain and helps to ease concerns about shortages at ports of arrival.
Coffee remains a commodity with stable demand thanks to the diversity of products and price segments, helping to maintain high prices even during volatile market periods. The market expects that if the US completely exempts tariffs, coffee prices can continue to increase without affecting consumption demand.
The phenomenon of spot coffee prices being higher than futures prices shows that the market is in a state of reversal, reflecting short-term supply and demand tension.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market fell sharply on two floors:
Robusta Coffee (London):
Delivery in July 2025: Down 136 USD/ton, to 4,993 USD/ton.
Delivery in September 2025: Down 120 USD/ton, to 4,971 USD/ton.
Arabica Coffee (New York):
July 2025 delivery: Down 11.75 cents/lb, to 364.6 cents/lb.
September 2025 delivery: Down 10.65 cents/lb, to 361.6 cents/lb.
In Brazil, agricultural consultancy Safras & Mercado raised its 2025-2026 coffee production forecast to 65.51 million bags, up significantly from the previous figure of 62.45 million bags. At the same time, Brazil's Conab agency also revised its 2025 coffee production forecast to 55.7 million bags, 3.8 million bags higher than the January forecast. These figures show that Brazil's coffee supply is growing positively.
Global coffee inventories have also improved markedly. According to the latest data, robusta stocks held by ICE rose to a three-and-a-half month high of 4,507 lots. Arabica stocks also rose to 844,473 bags, the highest in nearly three months as of mid-last week.
However, coffee prices are still supported by some risk factors, especially the drought in Brazil. In Minas Gerais state, the largest arabica growing region, rainfall in the week ending May 10 was only 0.8 mm, equivalent to 16% of the average. If the drought persists, coffee yields could be affected, thereby putting pressure on world coffee supplies and prices.
