Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, October 16, 2025, decreased slightly compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 113,000 and 113,800 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in the former Dak Nong region are buying coffee at a maximum price of 113,800 VND/kg, a slight decrease of 800 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee decreased by 700 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 113,000 VND/kg.

Domestic coffee prices are forecast to fall from the average of 114,400 VND/kg. As Vietnam enters its new harvest season, the increased supply to the market is driving down domestic prices. The gap between domestic and international coffee prices continues to widen due to abundant supply.
The Central Highlands are forecast to receive more than average rainfall until October 20th. Dak Lak province alone could receive 70 mm of rain, which will help crops grow well. However, high yields mean increased supply, creating downward pressure on prices in the market.
According to data from the Vietnam Customs Department, the 2024-2025 coffee crop year (from October 2024 to September 2025) recorded a total export volume of 1.48 million tons, a slight decrease of 0.3% compared to the previous crop year. However, export value increased sharply by 52.9%, reaching 8.3 billion USD, the highest in the history of Vietnam's coffee industry.
Despite a temporary drop in domestic coffee prices, the Vietnamese coffee industry remains promising thanks to stable demand from Europe and the US. As the world's largest exporter of robusta coffee, Vietnam continues to hold a competitive advantage and is expected to maintain high prices in the near future.
World coffee prices today
In trading on October 15th, the price of robusta coffee futures for November 2025 delivery on the London exchange reached $4588 per ton, up 2.25% ($101 per ton) from the previous trading session. The January 2026 futures contract increased by 2.1% ($93 per ton), reaching $4513 per ton.

The March 2026 contract increased by 1.55% (5.85 US cents/pound), reaching 383.65 US cents/pound.
The gap between Vietnamese and world coffee prices is widening as domestic supply has been steadily increasing since the beginning of October.
International trade fluctuations are changing the landscape for many other commodities, especially coffee. In August alone, Brazilian coffee exports to the US fell by as much as 46% compared to the same period last year.
In the short term, high prices clearly benefit coffee growers as revenue improves. However, in the medium and long term, this volatility causes significant losses for exporters, roasters, and consumers.
Rising input costs could lead to increased production costs for processed coffee, pushing retail prices to uncontrollable levels, indicating that the global commodity market is entering a period of significant volatility, where opportunities and risks go hand in hand.
