Coffee prices on both international exchanges rose sharply as the market bet on the possibility of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) cutting interest rates this week. A weaker US dollar also contributed to the rise in coffee prices.
Another factor driving up coffee prices is the European Union’s Deforestation and Forest Degradation Regulation (EUDR), which will come into effect on December 30, 2025. This regulation could cut many coffee-producing regions out of the EU supply chain, forcing roasters to increase purchases to stockpile.
On the morning of September 16, Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, Chairman of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association (VICOFA), said that the association is organizing a trade promotion delegation to the US and Canada. Here, the delegation worked with the Chairman of the American Coffee Association, the Chairman of the Global Specialty Coffee Association and many coffee businesses in these two countries.
The trip's goal is to promote Vietnamese coffee, because currently consumers around the world, especially in the US and Canada, still do not know much about Vietnamese coffee products.
