Coffee prices today, March 18, 2025: Continuing to rise slightly.
Today, March 18th, domestic coffee prices are at 131,000 - 133,000 VND/kg. Coffee prices continue to increase slightly by 700 to 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The average global coffee price has increased by 14.3% compared to last month.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, March 18, 2025, continued to increase slightly compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 131,000 and 133,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at the highest price of 133,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 132,700 VND/kg, an increase of 700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by 900 VND/kg and are trading at 132,700 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee increased by 1000 VND/kg and reached 131,000 VND/kg.
Coffee prices are rising, bringing high profits to growers. However, veteran coffee producers are concerned about a scenario similar to 1994, when coffee prices peaked at historical highs and then fell into a surplus crisis, driving prices down to multi-year lows.
According to Mr. Trinh Duc Minh, Chairman of the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, coffee price fluctuations are only short-term. Many farmers are still persistently producing specialty coffee to maintain the brand, even though some areas have had to reduce production.
Currently, Vietnam has about 500-600 tons of specialty coffee recognized annually through competitions, but this figure is still very low compared to the target of 5,000 tons set for the period up to 2025.
In addition, the production of specialty coffee also generates 5,000-6,000 tons of high-quality coffee (not meeting specialty standards but still of superior quality). This is a highly sought-after product in the market due to its good quality and reasonable price.
Despite the volatility in the coffee market, investing in sustainable production and enhancing the value of coffee beans remains a crucial long-term strategy.
World coffee prices today

Robusta coffee (London):
May 2025 delivery: Increased by $106/ton, to $5,503/ton.
July 2025 delivery: Increased by $107/ton, to $5,484/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):
May 2025 delivery: Up 8.1 cents/lb, to 385.3 cents/lb.
July 2025 delivery: Up 7.7 cents/lb, to 378.6 cents/lb.
According to a Reuters report, as coffee prices reached record highs, numerous thefts occurred, particularly targeting trucks transporting coffee. To combat this, some importers have equipped coffee bags with tracking devices to protect their goods during transit.
The International Coffee Organization (ICO) also stated in its February report that the average global coffee price had increased by 14.3% compared to the previous month, while exports had decreased by 14.2% compared to the same period last year.
In the US, the National Coffee Association (NCA) has urged the Trump administration to exempt imported coffee from tariffs. They argue that additional tariffs on Canadian and Mexican coffee could increase US coffee prices by up to 50%.
NCA Chairman Bill Murray stressed that there is no alternative to imported coffee. He stated that, unlike other commodities where domestic production can be adjusted, the U.S. does not grow coffee, so tariffs would severely impact the industry.
