Coffee prices today, October 19, 2025: Slight decrease across the board.
On the morning of October 19, 2025, domestic coffee prices uniformly decreased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg, reaching 113,500 - 114,500 VND/kg. Lam Dong coffee has been certified with a Geographical Indication.
In the Di Linh, Lam Ha, and Bao Loc areas (Lam Dong province), the price of coffee today is being purchased at 113,500 VND/kg, a slight decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In the Cư M'gar area (Đắk Lắk), the price of coffee today is 114,500 VND/kg. In Ea H'leo and Buôn Hồ, the price of coffee today is 114,400 VND/kg, a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, in the Dak Nong area (Lam Dong province), the purchase price of coffee today is 114,500 VND/kg; in Gia Nghia and Dak R'lap it is 114,400 VND/kg. This is a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
In Gia Lai province, today's coffee price is 114,000 VND/kg (Chu Prong), while in Pleiku and La Grai it is 113,900 VND/kg. This is a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
World coffee market: At the close of the most recent trading session, Robusta coffee prices in London for November 2025 delivery fell by $62/ton to $4552/ton, and for January 2026 delivery fell by $46/ton to $4478/ton.
On the New York exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for December 2025 delivery increased by 3.65 cents/lb to 397.45 cents/lb, while the price for March 2026 delivery increased by 2.2 cents/lb to 375.6 cents/lb.
On October 15th, two traditional coffee varieties from Lam Dong, Arabica and Robusta, were officially granted Geographical Indication certificates by the Intellectual Property Office. This is an important step, helping to elevate the brand of Lam Dong coffee in both domestic and international markets.
Currently, Lam Dong province leads the country in both coffee acreage and production, with over 327,000 hectares planted, accounting for more than 45% of the total coffee acreage nationwide. By 2025, the province's total coffee production is estimated to reach over 1 million tons, equivalent to approximately 50% of Vietnam's total coffee production, with Robusta and Arabica coffee varieties remaining the dominant varieties.
The granting of geographical indication status makes Lam Dong coffee the fourth product from the province to achieve this title, after Binh Thuan dragon fruit, Phan Thiet fish sauce, and Dak Nong pepper. This title not only affirms the quality but also strengthens the position of Lam Dong coffee on the Vietnamese agricultural product map.
According to the Lam Dong Department of Science and Technology, the locality will continue to cooperate with businesses and relevant organizations to effectively exploit the value of geographical indications. The goal is to build a production, processing, and consumption chain for coffee according to high-quality standards, aiming for sustainable export and increasing value for local coffee growers.
Robusta coffee prices are showing a slight downward trend due to forecasts of heavy rainfall in the Central Highlands region. Rainfall is estimated at around 70 mm next week, higher than the historical average of 61.3 mm. This could improve crop yields, but it also creates short-term pressure, causing coffee prices to temporarily cool down.
According to Reuters, world coffee prices are being supported by rapidly declining inventories. Arabica coffee inventories on the ICE exchange have fallen to their lowest level in 19 months, at just 467,110 bags as of October 17th. Similarly, robusta coffee inventories have also fallen to their lowest level in nearly three months, at just over 6,100 lots.
Experts believe that the decrease in inventories is a positive sign that will help stabilize international coffee prices, even though new supplies from Brazil and Vietnam are about to be added. In addition, trade negotiations between the US and Brazil are proceeding in a positive atmosphere; if an agreement is reached, it could continue to support coffee prices in the coming weeks.
