Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, April 19, 2025, have dropped sharply compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 129,000 and 129,700 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at a maximum price of 129,700 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of 4,100 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 129,700 VND/kg, a decrease of 4,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province dropped sharply by 3,200 VND/kg and are trading at 129,500 VND/kg.
Meanwhile, in Lam Dong province, coffee prices dropped sharply by 3,700 VND/kg to 129,000 VND/kg.

Despite short-term adjustments in coffee prices, Vietnam's coffee exports in the first quarter of 2025 still achieved impressive results. According to the Customs Department, coffee export value reached US$2.8 billion, an increase of nearly 46% compared to the same period last year, despite a decrease in production. This is the first time coffee has surpassed seafood (US$2.3 billion) in export value and is second only to the wood industry in the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sector.
Earlier, in early April, after the US announced its plan to impose tariffs, domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region plummeted from 132,000 VND/kg to 118,000 VND/kg. Export prices on the international market also fell sharply, with Robusta and Arabica coffee losing $1,251 and $2,356 per ton respectively compared to their peaks.
However, after April 10th, when the US announced a 90-day suspension of tariffs, the coffee market quickly recovered. In the Central Highlands provinces such as Dak Lak, Gia Lai, and Lam Dong, coffee prices returned to 132,000 VND/kg. On the London and New York exchanges, the export price of Vietnamese coffee also increased steadily and is currently approaching its previous highs.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market have fallen sharply on both exchanges:
Robusta coffee (London):
Delivery in May 2025: Decreased by $135/ton, to $5,253/ton.
July 2025 delivery: Decreased by $102/ton, to $5,277/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):
May 2025 delivery: Down 0.55 cents/lb, to 375.5 cents/lb.
July 2025 delivery: Down 1.2 cents/lb, to 372.6 cents/lb.
World coffee prices have begun to fall again after reaching short-term peaks in recent sessions. The main reason is that hedge funds and investors are taking profits after a prolonged upward trend. In addition, market sentiment is also affected by easing inflationary pressures and lingering concerns about US consumption demand.
The recent strengthening of the US dollar is also a factor putting pressure on coffee prices. On the morning of April 18th, the US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the strength of the greenback against six major currencies, rose slightly to 99.40. This price increase occurred amidst a weakening Euro after the European Central Bank (ECB) continued its seventh interest rate cut in a year.
According to expert Nguyen Quang Binh, the downward correction in the global coffee market is understandable after seven consecutive days of increases. The main reason stems from the fact that inventories on international exchanges have increased again. In addition, many investors want to take profits and limit risks before the Easter holiday in 2025.
