Domestic coffee prices fell sharply today, clearly reflecting the impact from the world market. The decline mainly came from profit-taking pressure from speculators and signals of abundant supply from Brazil. In the domestic market, many exporting enterprises temporarily stopped purchasing, while coffee growers switched to holding stocks, waiting for prices to recover.
The market is expected to be volatile this week if inventories continue to rise and the US dollar maintains its strength. In addition, the Corpus Christi holiday on June 19th means Brazil will be on an extended holiday. Meanwhile, the New York Arabica coffee exchange will be closed for the US Juneteenth holiday, while the London exchange will continue trading Robusta.
The recent sharp rise in the USD exchange rate has also put considerable pressure on the coffee market. The strong USD makes coffee more expensive for international buyers, slowing demand and pushing down futures prices.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market fell sharply on two floors:
Robusta Coffee (London):
Delivery in July 2025: Down 155 USD/ton, to 4,164 USD/ton.
Delivery in September 2025: Down 148 USD/ton, to 4,007 USD/ton.

July 2025 delivery: Up 6.6 cents/lb, to 329.25 cents/lb.
September 2025 delivery: Up 5.95 cents/lb, to 326.5 cents/lb.
Robusta supplies are being bolstered by the favorable harvest in Brazil, traders said, with the crop expected to be bumper this year, while weather in major producing regions has remained stable, with no significant fluctuations affecting output.
In Vietnam, the robusta crop is almost sold out, but prospects for the new crop are seen as positive. Traders also said geopolitical risks from the conflict between Israel and Iran are weighing on the market but are not generating the usual bullish effect.
As of June 17, the war between Iran and Israel entered its fifth day with missile attacks causing great damage. The tense situation has caused some ship owners to choose to stay away from the Strait of Hormuz due to security risks.
