Domestic coffee prices today

Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, December 20, 2025, continued to decrease slightly by 200 to 500 VND/kg.

Specifically, in Lam Dong province, the prices in Di Linh, Bao Loc, and Lam Ha decreased slightly by 200 VND/kg compared to yesterday, trading at the same level of 88,500 VND/kg.

In Dak Lak province, the Cu M'gar area is currently buying coffee at 89,300 VND/kg, a decrease of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday. The Ea H'leo and Buon Ho areas are trading at 89,200 VND/kg.

In Dak Nong (Lam Dong province), traders in Gia Nghia and Dak R'lap reduced prices by 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, trading at 89,500 and 89,400 VND/kg respectively.

In Gia Lai province, the Chu Prong area is trading at 89,000 VND/kg, while Pleiku and La Grai are at 88,900 VND/kg, a decrease of 300 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

According to a coffee dealer in Dak Lak, many farmers this year are choosing to sell fresh coffee cherries at around 21,000 - 21,500 VND/kg. This price is 3,000 to 4,000 VND/kg lower than at the beginning of the season.

Most of the coffee growers who sell fresh beans are new landowners, do not live locally, or own small plots of land. Selling fresh beans reduces the labor involved in tending and harvesting, and makes distribution more convenient.

In November 2025, prolonged storms disrupted the harvesting process, forcing many coffee plants to remain on the trees. As a result, the percentage of ripe fruit was higher, and the quality and yield of the harvest in December also increased.

December alone accounts for 50-60% of the total coffee production for the entire crop year, creating immense selling pressure. The surge in supply, coupled with unfavorable developments in the international market, has driven domestic coffee prices down sharply.

World coffee prices today

Robusta coffee (London):

January 2026 delivery: Increased by $16/ton to $3,790/ton

March 2026 delivery: Increased by $9/ton to $3,686/ton

Arabica coffee (New York):

December 2025 delivery: Down 4.3 cents/lb to 340.80 cents/lb

March 2026 delivery: Down 3.2 cents/lb to 325.70 cents/lb

World coffee prices have fallen for six consecutive sessions, with a total decrease of nearly $500. The Chairman of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association believes that the downward trend may continue after the European Parliament approved the proposal to postpone the application of the EUDR.

Specifically, the European Parliament voted to postpone the implementation of the EU's anti-deforestation regulation by 12 months with 405 votes in favor, 242 against, and 8 abstentions. According to Mr. Nguyen Nam Hai, this information has gradually eased the sharp increase in coffee prices that has lasted for more than two and a half years.

After the European Council and Parliament finalize their approvals, the European Union will soon make an official announcement. Although the final procedures are still pending, the possibility of a further one-year postponement of the EUDR is almost certain. This regulation is expected to apply from December 30, 2025, for large businesses and traders, and from June 30, 2027, for small businesses and individuals, along with simplified procedures.

According to Mr. Nam Hai's assessment, postponing the EUDR deadline along with easing procedures will create more room for the market, thereby causing coffee prices to continue their downward trend in the coming period.
