In Vietnam, many businesses and farmers have also started selling off their stock after prices peaked at the end of May. Hoarding goods in anticipation of higher prices is no longer effective, leading to a surge in selling pressure and further stressing the domestic market.
The Vietnamese coffee industry is currently in the peak phase of negotiating and finalizing contracts for the third quarter of 2025. Strong price fluctuations during this sensitive period not only affect immediate transactions but also make it difficult to sign upcoming futures contracts.
Furthermore, the slight decrease in the domestic USD/VND exchange rate in recent days has led to a decline in export profits, reducing the incentive for businesses to purchase. Meanwhile, rising input costs have made roasters and international traders more cautious about new orders.

September 2025 delivery: Down $5/ton, to $3,886/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):

World coffee prices are experiencing a sharp decline not only due to technical factors but also to the direct impact of global supply and demand. Coffee production in Brazil and Indonesia is increasing as both countries enter their harvest season, creating significant pressure on prices.
Marcelo Melchior, CEO of Nestlé in Brazil, noted that coffee prices in the country have cooled down after a period of sharp increases driven by strong speculation. He said investment funds have withdrawn from the market, leaving the playing field to those who genuinely need raw materials. “The current trend is that raw material prices will fall, however, we need to closely monitor the weather because frost could change the situation,” he told Reuters.
Simultaneously, after a prolonged upward trend, financial investors on the London and New York futures exchanges simultaneously took profits, causing coffee prices to plummet. This is considered a crucial technical factor pushing the market into a sharp correction trend.
