The continuous increase in coffee prices has caused many distribution businesses to face difficulties due to the decrease in orders. Under the pressure of increasing raw material prices, coffee producers have been forced to shift to the high-end segment, focusing on high-quality products that meet sustainable standards and do not encroach on natural forests.

According to Mr. Hoang Doanh Huu, General Director of Miss Ede Coffee (Dak Lak), the unusual increase in coffee prices over the past two years has created many challenges. In particular, enterprises processing finished products are the units that suffer the most damage.

The reason is that the price of domestic raw coffee has increased sharply, while the price of consumer products cannot adjust at the same speed. This makes it difficult for many businesses to compete in the market, and even difficult to maintain production activities.

According to analysis by Pine Agronegócios, cumulative rainfall in Brazil’s major coffee-growing regions in March was well below historical averages, raising concerns about future supplies, especially for the 2026-2027 crop, when water reserves could reach record lows.

In addition, brokerage firm Escritório Carvalhaes said that coffee price trends in New York and London continue to reflect the uncertainties in the global market. These fluctuations stem from the new economic and political policies of the US president in the early days of his term.

Additionally, the appreciation of the Brazilian Real against the US dollar has also impacted the market. As the Brazilian currency strengthens, coffee producers in the country tend to reduce exports, thereby tightening global supplies.
