Today, March 21st, domestic coffee prices are at 133,700 - 135,000 VND/kg. Coffee prices have increased slightly by 800 to 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Prices rose on both exchanges.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, March 21, 2025, remained unchanged compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 133,700 and 135,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at a maximum price of 135,000 VND/kg, a slight increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 135,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by 800 VND/kg and are trading at 134,800 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee increased by 1000 VND/kg and reached 133,700 VND/kg.
The continuous rise in coffee prices has caused difficulties for many distribution businesses due to declining orders. Faced with the pressure of increasing raw material prices, coffee producers are forced to shift towards the premium segment, focusing on high-quality products that meet sustainable standards and do not encroach on natural forests.
According to Mr. Hoang Doanh Huu, General Director of Miss Ede Coffee (Dak Lak), the unusual increase in coffee prices over the past two years has created many challenges. In particular, businesses that process finished products are the ones suffering the most losses.
The reason is that domestic raw coffee prices have risen sharply, while the prices of consumer products cannot adjust at the same rate. This makes it difficult for many businesses to compete in the market, and even makes it difficult for them to maintain production.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market are also subject to many fluctuations:
Robusta coffee (London):
May 2025 delivery: Increased by $29/ton, to $5,556/ton.
July 2025 delivery: Increased by $32/ton, to $5,541/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):
May 2025 delivery: Up 5.35 cents/lb, to 396.4 cents/lb.
July 2025 delivery: Up 5.6 cents/lb, to 389.65 cents/lb.
According to Pine Agronegocios' analysis, cumulative rainfall in Brazil's major coffee-growing regions in March was significantly lower than the historical average. This raises concerns about future supply, particularly for the 2026-2027 crop year, when water reserves could reach record lows.
Furthermore, brokerage firm Escritório Carvalhaes noted that coffee price trends on the New York and London exchanges still reflect global market instability. These fluctuations stem from the new economic and political policies of the US president in the early days of his term.
Furthermore, the appreciation of the Brazilian Real against the USD also impacts the market. When the Brazilian currency strengthens, Brazilian coffee producers tend to reduce exports, thereby tightening global supply.
