Domestic coffee prices today

Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, May 21, 2025, surged sharply compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 126,000 and 126,700 VND/kg.

Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at the highest price of 126,700 VND/kg, a sharp increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 126,500 VND/kg, an increase of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by 2000 VND/kg and are trading at 126,500 VND/kg.

In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee increased by 2200 VND/kg and reached 126,000 VND/kg.

Coffee prices have been unusually volatile recently. In previous years, coffee prices in Vietnam typically fell during the peak harvest season from November to April, then rose again from May to October as supply decreased. However, this year, coffee prices surged during the harvest period, before showing signs of cooling down from the end of April 2025.

Despite the downward trend in prices, the amount of coffee remaining in farmers' hands is not significant. Vietnam's coffee exports in the first four months of 2025 reached $3.8 billion.

At this rate, Vietnam's coffee industry is likely to reach the $7 billion export mark for the first time this year, further solidifying its leading position in the world for Robusta coffee exports.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market fell slightly on both exchanges:

Robusta coffee (London):

July 2025 delivery: Decreased by $82/ton, to $4,891/ton.

September 2025 delivery: Down $74/ton, to $4,888/ton.

Arabica coffee (New York):

July 2025 delivery: Down 5.4 cents/lb, to 369.3 cents/lb.

September 2025 delivery: Down 5.35 cents/lb, to 366.1 cents/lb.

Coffee exports from Brazil have declined, contributing to support for global coffee prices. According to the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association (Cecafe), in April, green coffee bean exports reached only 3.05 million bags, down 28% compared to the same period last year. For the first four months of the year, this figure decreased by 15.5%, to 13.2 million bags.

However, considering the first 10 months of the crop year, Brazil's coffee exports still reached a record 2.4 million tons. This is because many importers from Europe increased their purchases since the end of last year to build up reserves and avoid supply disruptions when the EU's anti-deforestation regulations (EUDR) officially come into effect at the end of this year. On average, the supply chain from raw material import to product reaching store shelves takes about 6 months.

Currently, Brazil is working with the EU to create a traceability map for approximately 300,000 coffee farms and to agree on national-level risk management in compliance with the EUDR. This is an important preparatory step for the upcoming export phase.
