Coffee prices have fluctuated in recent times, contrary to normal practice. In previous years, coffee prices in Vietnam often decreased during the peak harvest season from November to April, and increased again from May to October when supply decreased. However, this year, coffee prices increased sharply during the harvest period, then began to cool down from the end of April 2025.

Although prices are trending down again, the amount of coffee left in the hands of the people is not much. Vietnam's coffee exports in the first 4 months of 2025 reached 3.8 billion USD.

With this momentum, the Vietnamese coffee industry is likely to reach the export milestone of 7 billion USD for the first time this year, thereby continuing to affirm its leading position in the world in Robusta coffee exports.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market decreased slightly on two floors:

Robusta Coffee (London):

Delivery in July 2025: Down 82 USD/ton, to 4,891 USD/ton.

Delivery September 2025: Down 74 USD/ton, to 4,888 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

July 2025 delivery: Down 5.4 cents/lb, to 369.3 cents/lb.

September 2025 delivery: Down 5.35 cents/lb, to 366.1 cents/lb.

Coffee exports from Brazil have fallen, helping to support global coffee prices. According to the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association (Cecafe), green coffee exports in April were just 3.05 million bags, down 28% from the same period last year. For the first four months of the year, that figure was down 15.5% to 13.2 million bags.

However, if we count the total of the first 10 months of the crop, Brazil's coffee exports still reached a record 2.4 million tons. The reason is that many importers from Europe have increased purchases since the end of last year to stock up, avoiding supply disruptions when the EU's anti-deforestation regulation (EUDR) officially takes effect at the end of this year. On average, the supply chain from raw material import to goods on the shelves lasts about 6 months.

Brazil is currently working with the EU to map the origin of some 300,000 coffee farms and agree on national risk management in compliance with the EUDR. This is an important step in preparing for the upcoming export phase.
