Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices today, September 21, 2025, in the Central Highlands region dropped by a shocking 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 110,800 - 111,500 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in the old Dak Nong region are purchasing coffee at the highest price of 111,500 VND/kg, a shocking decrease of 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, coffee price in Dak Lak province is 111,500 VND/kg, down 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by VND5,000/kg compared to yesterday and were traded at VND111,200/kg.
In Lam Dong province, coffee prices decreased by VND5,000/kg compared to yesterday and are at VND110,800/kg.
Compared to last weekend, world coffee prices fell sharply. Specifically, the price of Robusta coffee futures for November 2025 delivery decreased by 459 USD/ton, equivalent to 10%. The price of Arabica coffee futures for December 2025 delivery also decreased by 700 USD/ton, equivalent to 8%.
This sharp fluctuation occurred right before the harvest in Vietnam, causing many farmers to worry. Similar situations have happened in the past. Experts warn that predicting coffee prices is very difficult. Instead, farmers should focus on sustainable production and cost reduction to ensure economic efficiency.
There are two main reasons for this sudden drop. The first is the recovery of the US dollar. The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the strength of the USD, increased by 0.31% in the early morning of September 20, currently at 97.65.
The more important reason, according to Mr. Nguyen Quang Binh, is the information that many US congressmen are actively lobbying to exempt the fifty percent reciprocal tax on imported coffee. This information makes investors worried and they sell off coffee, bringing prices back to the low level of a month ago.
World coffee prices today
At the close of trading on September 21, on the London Stock Exchange, the online price of Robusta coffee futures contract for September 2025 delivery reached 4,353 USD/ton, down 6.69% (312 USD/ton) compared to yesterday. The futures contract for November 2025 delivery decreased by 7.02% (312 USD/ton), down to 4,153 USD/ton.
On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for delivery in December 2025 decreased by 4.07% (15.55 US cents/pound) compared to yesterday, to 365.3 US cents/pound. The contract for delivery in March 2026 decreased by 4.15% (15 US cents/pound), to 346.25 US cents/pound.
On the Brazilian exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for delivery in September 2025 decreased by 4.74% (21.75 US cents/pound) compared to yesterday, to 436.6 US cents/pound. The contract for delivery in December 2025 decreased by 1.1% (4.85 US cents/pound) to 432.95 US cents/pound.
