Coffee prices today, September 21st, are at 110,800 - 111,500 VND/kg, a surprising and sharp drop of 5,000 VND/kg. World coffee prices have returned to the low levels seen a month ago.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, September 21, 2025, dropped sharply by 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 110,800 and 111,500 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in the former Dak Nong region are buying coffee at a maximum of 111,500 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 111,500 VND/kg, a decrease of 5,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by 5000 VND/kg compared to yesterday and are trading at 111,200 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee decreased by 5000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 110,800 VND/kg.
Compared to last weekend, world coffee prices have fallen sharply. Specifically, the price of Robusta coffee futures for November 2025 delivery decreased by $459/ton, equivalent to 10%. The price of Arabica coffee futures for December 2025 delivery also decreased by $700/ton, equivalent to 8%.
This sharp fluctuation occurred just before Vietnam began its harvest, causing anxiety among many farmers. Similar situations have occurred in the past. Experts advise that predicting coffee prices is very difficult. Instead, farmers should focus on sustainable production and cost reduction to ensure economic efficiency.
There are two main reasons for this sudden drop in prices. The first reason stems from the recovery of the US dollar. The US Dollar Index (DXY), which measures the strength of the USD, rose 0.31% in the early hours of September 20th, currently standing at 97.65.
According to Mr. Nguyen Quang Binh, a more significant reason is the information that many US lawmakers are actively campaigning to exempt imported coffee from the fifty percent retaliatory tariff. This information has caused concern among investors, leading to a sell-off of coffee and pushing prices back to the low levels seen a month ago.
World coffee prices today
At the close of trading on September 21st, on the London Stock Exchange, the online price of robusta coffee futures contracts for September 2025 delivery reached US$4353/ton, down 6.69% (US$312/ton) compared to yesterday. The November 2025 futures contract fell 7.02% (US$312/ton), to US$4153/ton.
On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for December 2025 delivery fell 4.07% (15.55 US cents/pound) compared to yesterday, to 365.3 US cents/pound. The March 2026 contract fell 4.15% (15 US cents/pound), reaching 346.25 US cents/pound.
On the Brazilian exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for September 2025 delivery fell 4.74% (21.75 US cents/pound) compared to yesterday, to 436.6 US cents/pound. The December 2025 contract fell 1.1% (4.85 US cents/pound), reaching 432.95 US cents/pound.
