Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, December 23, 2025, increased sharply by 1,200 to 1,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Specifically, in Lam Dong province, the Di Linh, Bao Loc, and Lam Ha areas saw a sharp increase of 1,500 VND/kg compared to the previous week, trading at the same level of 91,000 VND/kg.
In Dak Lak province, the Cu M'gar area is buying coffee at 91,500 VND/kg, an increase of 1,200 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Meanwhile, the Ea H'leo and Buon Ho areas are trading at 91,400 VND/kg.

In Gia Lai province, the Chu Prong area is trading at 91,200 VND/kg, while Pleiku and La Grai are at 91,100 VND/kg, an increase of 1,200 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
The recent sharp rise in coffee prices is primarily driven by speculative buying at the bottom when the market fell to low levels after a prolonged decline. When prices reached key technical levels, speculative buying quickly increased, creating a strong short-term recovery effect.
Global coffee consumption continued to grow by 1.3%, reaching a record high of 173.9 million bags. Ending inventories are projected to decrease for the fifth consecutive year, to around 20.1 million bags. The growth was primarily driven by Europe, particularly Germany, France, and Italy, as demand recovered after a period of high prices.
The Asian region also saw significant growth, with Vietnam, Indonesia, China, and South Korea emerging as bright spots due to the increasing popularity of roasted and ground coffee and instant coffee. The expansion of domestic markets has made this region a bright spot in terms of demand.
Notably, Vietnam ranks 8th among the world's largest coffee consumers, close to Canada and Indonesia. Despite record-high global production, strong demand continues to support coffee prices in the near future.

World coffee prices today
Coffee prices rose slightly in the most recent trading session:
Robusta coffee (London):
January 2026 delivery: Increased by $65/ton to $3,839/ton.
March 2026 delivery: Increased by $65/ton to $3,734/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):
December 2025 delivery: Increased by 4.6 cents/lb to 345.25 cents/lb.
March 2026 delivery: Increased by 4.4 cents/lb to 330.30 cents/lb.
The US lifting reciprocal tariffs on coffee, particularly the 40% tariff previously imposed on Brazilian coffee, along with the EU's decision to postpone the implementation of the EUDR anti-deforestation regulation until the end of 2026, has created sustained downward pressure on world coffee prices over the past month.
The increased supply is also putting significant pressure on the market. The high coffee harvest in Vietnam, combined with favorable weather in Brazil for the new crop year, makes the outlook for global supply more abundant.
On December 18, the Foreign Agricultural Service of the U.S. Department of Agriculture released its second semi-annual report for 2025, providing official estimates of global coffee production and trade, reinforcing the view that supply is currently high.
Global coffee prices continue their downward trend as the year draws to a close. The market is subdued due to the Christmas and New Year holidays, speculation is withdrawing capital and selling heavily, and the weakening of the Brazilian currency against the USD, coupled with favorable rainfall conditions in Brazil, continues to put downward pressure on prices.
