Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, March 23, 2025, increased slightly compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 132,900 and 134,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at the highest price of 134,000 VND/kg, a slight increase of 500 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Dak Lak province are at 133,900 VND/kg, a slight increase of 400 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by 400 VND/kg and are trading at 133,900 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee increased by 400 VND/kg and reached 132,900 VND/kg.

Information about the drought conditions in Dak Lak is causing concern about the yield of the next crop. This is also one of the reasons why Robusta coffee prices have recently recovered.
Some traders in the Central Highlands of Vietnam say that supply remains scarce and will continue to be limited until Indonesia enters its harvest season. Importing coffee from Brazil to compensate for the shortage, as was the case last year, is also not feasible due to the tightening supply from Brazil.
Mr. Boubaker Ben-Belhassen, Director of Markets and Trade at FAO, believes that the current high coffee prices are an incentive for the coffee industry to invest more heavily in technology, research, and support for smallholder farmers, in order to increase their adaptability to climate change.
The FAO also warned that climate change is a long-term challenge to global coffee production. According to the organization, in 2024, the average global coffee price increased by nearly 39% compared to the previous year, due to reduced production caused by extreme weather. If production continues to decline in key growing regions, coffee prices in 2025 could rise even more sharply.

Since the beginning of 2025, the export price of Vietnamese coffee has continuously set new records, helping to increase the export value of this promising commodity.
According to data from the Customs Department, in February 2025 alone, Vietnam exported nearly 170,000 tons of coffee, earning over 964 million USD. Compared to the previous month, volume increased by 26.7% and value increased by 32.2%. Compared to the same period last year, export volume increased by only nearly 7%, but value increased by as much as 82.6%.
In the first two months of the year, coffee exports reached over 309,000 tons, bringing in $1.72 billion. Although production decreased by 22% compared to the same period last year, thanks to a sharp increase in export prices, the total value still increased by more than 37%.
According to the Import-Export Department of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, this positive result stems from abundant domestic supply as coffee is in its harvest season. In particular, the average export price in the first two months of the year increased by nearly 76% compared to the same period last year, reaching US$5,561 per ton. In February alone, the average coffee price reached US$5,678 per ton, higher than in January and far exceeding the price in the same period last year.
