Coffee prices today, April 24, 2025: Continue to decline slightly.
Domestic coffee prices today, April 24th, are at 129,000 - 129,500 VND/kg. Coffee prices continue to decrease slightly by 100 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Brazil's coffee production this year is expected to decrease by 3% to 6.4% compared to the previous season due to prolonged drought conditions.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, April 24, 2025, continued to decrease slightly compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 128,900 and 129,400 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at a maximum price of 129,400 VND/kg, a decrease of 100 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 129,400 VND/kg, a decrease of 100 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province remained unchanged, trading at 129,300 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee decreased by 100 VND/kg and is now at 128,900 VND/kg.
Over the past four days, the coffee market has lacked a clear benchmark price, coupled with conflicting information, making it extremely difficult to predict price trends.
Mr. Nguyen Dac Dat, Director of Nga Thanh Trading Company Limited (Dak Nong), shared that in his 12 years working in the coffee purchasing industry, he has never seen prices fluctuate the same way year after year, making it very difficult to find a pattern. Currently, the market is almost frozen as buyers and sellers cannot agree on a price, causing transactions to virtually stop. Buying and selling activities mainly take place with small, urgent orders to supply domestic roasters.
Mr. Dat stated that coffee can be stored in warehouses for 2 to 3 years while maintaining its quality. However, in recent years, coffee production has decreased sharply due to unfavorable weather conditions, low yields, and the conversion of many coffee-growing areas to other crops or urbanization.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market have fallen sharply on both exchanges:
Robusta coffee (London):
May 2025 delivery: Increased by $118/ton, to $5,349/ton.
July 2025 delivery: Increased by $86/ton, to $5,343/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):
May 2025 delivery: Increased by 12.25 cents/lb, to 385 cents/lb.
July 2025 delivery: Up 11.5 cents/lb, to 378 cents/lb.
On a global scale, Brazil is also facing a decline in production. It is estimated that Brazil's 2025-2026 crop will decrease by 3% to 6.4% compared to the previous year due to prolonged drought conditions in 2024.
Dutch bank Rabobank forecasts Brazil's coffee production for the next crop season will only reach 62.8 million bags (60kg each), a 6.4% decrease compared to the estimated 67.1 million bags for the 2024-2025 season. Of this, arabica production is expected to fall sharply by 13.6%, to 38 million bags. Conversely, robusta production could increase by 7.3%, reaching a record 24.7 million bags.
Rabobank noted that the dry weather in 2024 severely impacted flowering, significantly reducing arabica yields. However, robusta still holds a positive outlook, despite the unfavorable situation in Rondonia.
Meanwhile, Itau BBA Bank maintained its production forecast at 64.4 million bags, 3% lower than the 66.4 million bags projected by the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) for the previous crop year. The bank predicted arabica production would decrease by 10% to 40.9 million bags, while robusta production would increase by 12% to 23.5 million bags.
