Today, May 24th, domestic coffee prices are at 122,000 - 122,500 VND/kg. Domestic coffee prices have fallen sharply by 2,500 to 3,300 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Total coffee export value has exceeded 4 billion USD.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, May 24, 2025, have uniformly decreased sharply compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 122,000 and 122,500 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at a maximum price of 122,500 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of 2,800 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 122,500 VND/kg, a decrease of 2,700 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by 2,500 VND/kg and are trading at 122,500 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee decreased by 3,300 VND/kg and is now at 122,000 VND/kg.
Expert Nguyen Quang Binh predicts that domestic coffee prices could fall to 120,000 - 122,000 VND/kg, due to the downward trend in world prices. According to him, factors that previously caused sharp price increases, such as concerns about unusual weather patterns or the US-China trade war, are gradually easing.
In addition, after two years of high coffee prices, farmers have invested more in care and replanting, which will also contribute to an increase in supply in the coming period.
According to VICOFA, in the first four months of 2025, Vietnam exported nearly 734,000 tons of green coffee beans, earning over $3.95 billion. Compared to the same period last year, export volume increased slightly by 1.8%, but value surged by 69.5%. Including processed coffee, the total coffee export value exceeded $4 billion.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market fell slightly on both exchanges:
Robusta coffee (London):
July 2025 delivery: Decreased by $31/ton, to $4,756/ton.
September 2025 delivery: Down $32/ton, to $4,752/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):
July 2025 delivery: Down 1.2 cents/lb, to 359.55 cents/lb.
September 2025 delivery: Down 1.55 cents/lb, to 357.1 cents/lb.
Coffee prices just experienced a sharp decline, with arabica falling to its lowest level in 5 weeks and robusta to its lowest in 6 weeks. The main reason is the rapid increase in global coffee inventories, putting significant pressure on prices.
As of May 22nd, the amount of robusta coffee monitored by ICE has increased to its highest level in eight months, reaching 5,425 lots, equivalent to 54,250 tons. This represents a significant increase compared to the end of April and the same period last year. In addition, arabica inventories have also risen to their highest level in three and a half months, exceeding 883,000 bags.
In major producing countries like Brazil and Indonesia, the robusta harvest is accelerating. While production isn't abundant right now, supply is expected to increase in the near future. A trader in Vietnam said this will push prices down further.
