Vietnamese coffee is forecast to maintain its advantage in export markets in the final months of 2025. The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), which will come into effect in early 2026, is seen as a major opportunity. Vietnam is almost the only leading exporter that is fully prepared to meet these standards.
The US imposing high tariffs of up to 50% on goods from Brazil will push up the price of Brazilian coffee. This creates very favorable conditions for Vietnamese coffee, with lower tariffs, to expand its market share in the US market.
Experts recommend that businesses should not sell in bulk but should hold onto their products to wait for better prices. In the long term, it is difficult to expand the coffee growing area because many farmers are gradually switching to growing fruit trees that bring higher economic efficiency.

After a decline in July due to abundant supplies, the global coffee market has recovered, mainly due to US President Donald Trump's announcement of tariffs on coffee imported from Brazil.
Mr. Phan Xuan Thang, former Vice President of VICOFA, commented that the new US tax policy could divert imports to other countries such as Vietnam. This creates an opportunity for domestic coffee prices to remain stable or continue to increase. According to Reuters, the Brazilian Coffee Exporters Association (Cecafe) said that many importers in the US have temporarily postponed purchases from Brazil to wait for the results of tax negotiations.
