In the first half of 2025, domestic coffee prices underwent a sharp correction. The main reason was downward pressure from the world market, while domestic supply increased due to the start of the main harvest season, causing prices to fall significantly.

After a series of consecutive declines, coffee prices are likely to enter a short-term stabilization phase. For Robusta coffee, most of the technical selling and profit-taking has been absorbed, allowing prices to stabilize again.

On futures exchanges, coffee prices unexpectedly surged amid global financial market volatility, particularly in investment commodities like gold and oil. This development could prompt speculators to return to the coffee market seeking profit opportunities.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market have fallen sharply on both exchanges:

Robusta coffee (London):

July 2025 delivery: Decreased by $186/ton, to $3,800/ton.

September 2025 delivery: Decreased by $196/ton, to $3,708/ton.

Arabica coffee (New York):

July 2025 delivery: Down 10.8 cents/lb, to 315.75 cents/lb.

September 2025 delivery: Down 9.9 cents/lb, to 310.7 cents/lb.

Currently, although Brazil has officially entered winter, most areas are still experiencing normal weather. Some areas in the southeast have had scattered showers over the past week. The upcoming full moon will fall on July 10th, a time when, according to experience, cold weather may appear and affect agricultural areas if accompanied by cold air.

In the Central Highlands, Vietnam's main coffee-growing region, the weather is also considered to be following the seasonal pattern. The rainy season has begun and is expected to intensify in the coming period, lasting until October. This is a positive sign for both coffee growers and investors after the prolonged hot weather in May.

Technically, September coffee futures on the London exchange have fallen below the 3,840-3,850 USD/tonne range. If prices continue to fall below 3,720 USD, the market could deteriorate significantly. Currently, the closing price at the end of the week is still above this level, but pressure remains high as the July contract settlement deadline is June 25th. This could lead to strong price pressure on either buyers or sellers in the coming sessions.
