Coffee prices today, August 25th, are at 123,500 - 124,000 VND/kg, a strong increase of 5.5 to 5.7% compared to last week. Coffee prices on the exchange have been continuously rising by triple digits.

Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, August 25, 2025, remain unchanged compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 123,500 and 124,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, traders in the former Dak Nong region are buying coffee at the highest price of 124,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.

Domestic coffee prices rose sharply by 5.5 to 5.7% this week compared to the previous week, while world coffee prices increased by 13-14%. This is also the highest price recorded in the past three months. Specifically, in Dak Nong and Lam Dong, coffee prices saw the highest increase of 6,700 VND/kg. In Gia Lai, coffee prices increased by 6,600 VND/kg. And in Dak Lak, coffee prices closed the week up 6,500 VND/kg compared to the previous week.

The reason domestic coffee prices are rising more slowly than international prices is believed to be due to a slowdown in export purchasing activities. Many businesses have completed old contracts but have not yet signed new ones. Buyers are waiting for more stable prices before deciding to import more, preventing a surge in domestic market demand.

Coffee prices in Vietnam are forecast to continue rising slightly this week due to a scarcity of coffee beans. At the same time, prolonged heavy rains in Indonesia threaten to affect coffee berry development, raising concerns among traders about potential impacts on global supply.

On the international market, Robusta and Arabica coffee prices continue to rise, providing further impetus for futures contracts and offering opportunities for Vietnam to expand its export market share. In the short term, if the US dollar continues to weaken, coffee prices are likely to remain high or continue to increase.

World coffee prices today

On the London exchange, online robusta coffee futures contracts for September 2025 closed last week at $4758 per ton, up 13.3% ($557 per ton) from the previous week and reaching a three-month high. The November 2025 contract rose 14.3% ($583 per ton), reaching $4650 per ton.

Meanwhile, on the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for September 2025 delivery rose 13.8% (47.3 US cents/pound) compared to the previous week, reaching 390.65 US cents/pound, the highest level in 3.5 months. The December 2025 contract increased 13.2% (44.1 US cents/pound), reaching 378.3 US cents/pound.

World coffee prices have risen much faster and more sharply than domestic prices in recent days, significantly narrowing the price difference between the two markets. While last week domestic coffee prices were 13,000 VND/kg higher than international floor prices, the difference is now only about 1,500 VND/kg.

Within a month, Robusta coffee prices rose by 43%, while Arabica prices increased by 31%. This surge indicates a strong recovery trend in the global coffee market. This development has drawn greater attention from businesses and investors to changes in supply and demand and the impact of weather conditions in key growing regions.

Brazil remains the focus of attention in the global coffee market. The harvest there has concluded, and weather forecasts indicate warmer temperatures over the next two weeks. The market is closely monitoring long-term weather forecasts, particularly the outlook for the spring-summer monsoon season expected to begin in the final quarter of the year, as this is crucial for the flowering of the 2026 crop.

The coffee market today will see some changes due to the Summer Bank Holiday in the UK. The London exchange for Robusta coffee will be closed, while the New York exchange will remain open. This could impact liquidity and price volatility in the short term.
