Domestic coffee prices today

Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, May 26, 2025, remain unchanged compared to yesterday, fluctuating between 122,000 and 122,500 VND/kg.

Accordingly, traders in Dak Nong province are buying coffee at the highest price of 122,500 VND/kg. This remains unchanged from yesterday.

Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province remains unchanged from yesterday at 122,500 VND/kg.

Coffee prices in Gia Lai province remained unchanged, trading at 122,500 VND/kg.

In Lam Dong province, coffee prices remained unchanged at 122,000 VND/kg.

According to surveys, coffee prices in the Central Highlands region are at their lowest level in the past six weeks. Compared to last week, prices have fallen sharply by 2,500 to 2,700 VND/kg, marking the fourth consecutive week of decline in the domestic coffee market.

Specifically, Dak Nong recorded the sharpest price drop last week, falling by 2,700 VND/kg. Coffee prices in Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces decreased by 2,500 VND/kg compared to the previous week. In Lam Dong province, coffee prices were also recorded to have decreased by 2,500 VND/kg.

Coffee prices continued their downward trend, primarily due to slow trading activity and increased supply from other major robusta-producing countries such as Brazil and Indonesia. According to Reuters, traders said that while current production from these two countries is not yet abundant, harvesting has begun and supply is expected to continue increasing in the coming period.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market fell sharply last week on both exchanges:

On the London Stock Exchange, online robusta coffee futures for July 2025 delivery closed last week at $4,790 per ton, down 1.5% ($75 per ton) from the previous week; September futures contracts fell 1.5% ($74 per ton), reaching $4,786 per ton.

On the New York Stock Exchange, the price of Arabica coffee for July 2025 delivery fell 1.3% (4.6 cents/lb) last week, to 361 cents/lb; the September 2025 contract fell 1% (3.8 cents/lb), to 358.7 cents/lb.

Data from Hedgepoint Global Markets shows that robusta harvesting progress in Brazil has reached approximately 11%. Meanwhile, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) forecasts increased coffee production in Vietnam and Indonesia for the 2025-2026 crop year. Specifically, Vietnam could achieve a production of 31 million bags (60 kg each), with robusta accounting for 30 million bags. The increase in production by coffee growers is believed to be in response to previously high prices.

On the export market, Vietnamese robusta coffee grade 2 (5% black and broken beans) is being offered at $50-70/ton higher than the July contract on the LIFFE exchange. Meanwhile, in Indonesia, Sumatra robusta beans are currently being offered at the same price as the June contract, compared to $20 lower than the May contract last week, adjusting to the downward trend on the London exchange.

Another trader noted that the discount on the July contract is now only $30, a significant reduction from last week's $70. This is due to the weakening US dollar, while domestic coffee prices remain relatively stable.
