Coffee prices today, June 28, 2025: Rising sharply again.
Domestic coffee prices today, June 28th, are at 93,500 - 93,800 VND/kg. Coffee prices have risen sharply again, by 2,800 to 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday. Prices are predicted to continue falling due to increasing supply pressure.
Domestic coffee prices today
Domestic coffee prices in the Central Highlands region today, June 28, 2025, have dropped sharply to a record low, fluctuating between 93,500 and 93,800 VND/kg.
Accordingly, traders in Dak Lak province are buying coffee at the highest price of 93,800 VND/kg, a sharp increase of 2,800 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Nong province is 93,800 VND/kg, an increase of 2,800 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province increased by 2,900 VND/kg compared to yesterday and are trading at 93,700 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee increased by 3,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 93,500 VND/kg.
In the long term, coffee prices are projected to continue falling due to increasing supply pressure. According to Mr. Trinh Duc Minh, Chairman of the Buon Ma Thuot Coffee Association, each wave of coffee price increases usually lasts only about 4 to 5 years, after which the market enters a correction phase. Currently, many coffee-producing countries are planning to expand their planted area and increase production.
Over the past two years, the sharp increase in coffee prices has encouraged many households to replant and expand their coffee cultivation areas. In Buon Ma Thuot, the average annual coffee cultivation area is about 4,000 hectares, but this year it could increase to 5,000 hectares. These new areas will begin yielding harvests in the next few years, contributing significantly to the coffee supply.
However, Mr. Minh also believes that coffee prices are unlikely to fall as sharply as during the previous crisis. The previous price levels of 30,000-40,000 VND/kg are unlikely to be repeated, as input costs have increased significantly. Therefore, although prices may fall in the near future, the bottom of this cycle will be higher than previous price drops.
World coffee prices today
Coffee prices on the world market fell slightly on both exchanges:
Robusta coffee (London):
September 2025 delivery: Decreased by $40/ton, to $3,625/ton.
November 2025 delivery: Decreased by $37/ton, to $3,558/ton.
Arabica coffee (New York):
September 2025 delivery: Down 11.9 cents/lb, to 293.75 cents/lb.
December 2025 delivery: Down 11.95 cents/lb, to 288.45 cents/lb.
According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA), Brazil is expected to maintain a slight increase in production during the 2025/2026 crop year, which runs from July 2025 to June 2026. Production is projected to reach approximately 65 million 60-kg bags, a 0.5% increase compared to the previous season.
The USDA said the increase in production is mainly due to robusta coffee. With favorable weather conditions in key growing regions, robusta production is projected to reach 24.1 million bags, up 15% from the previous season.
In Asia, Indonesia is also showing great ambition, aiming to surpass Vietnam to become the world's second-largest coffee producer. The government is actively implementing policies to support production and capitalize on the growing global demand for coffee.
