Accordingly, traders in Lam Dong province (formerly Dak Nong) are buying coffee at 96,700 VND/kg, a slight increase of 1,100 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Domestic coffee prices have increased by 900-1,100 VND/kg. However, this upward trend is easily affected by abundant supply on the global market. Farmers are monitoring prices to decide on sales and prepare storage for the new harvest.
Domestic spot coffee prices are currently about 12,000 VND/kg higher than international prices. Scarce supply is forcing businesses to increase purchase prices to fulfill contracts. If strong buying continues, domestic prices could rise further.
With 85% of coffee production destined for export, the 5% VAT burdens businesses. The provisional tax payments, potentially amounting to hundreds of billions of dong, put significant pressure on capital. Some businesses have proposed delaying payment of 5% of the cost to cooperatives, awaiting tax refunds before making full payments.

The average export price reached $5,388 per ton, an increase of 48%, thanks to stable production and investment in sustainable farming practices.
This week, US retaliatory tariffs continue to influence global coffee prices. The US is expected to impose a 50% tariff on Brazilian coffee starting in August 2025, impacting the global Arabica coffee supply chain. This could lead US businesses to switch to importing Robusta, creating opportunities for Vietnam, the world's second-largest Robusta producer.
With the advantage of high prices and stable production, the Vietnamese coffee industry is projected to continue breaking records in the second half of 2025. Leveraging US tariff policies could help Vietnam increase its market share in the global market.
