Domestically, coffee prices are expected to remain high and may continue to rise in the short term due to the decreasing volume of goods in circulation and the lack of signs of improvement in the dry weather. However, the market remains sensitive to weather factors in Brazil and import demand from major consuming countries.

In the European market, in February 2025, the EU imported 3.15 million bags of green coffee beans, down nearly 10% compared to the previous month and down more than 18% compared to the same period in 2024. However, the total import volume in the 2024-2025 crop year still increased by 6.22% compared to the previous crop year, reaching 47.05 million bags.

The value of coffee imports in February reached 1.01 billion euros, down slightly from the previous month but up sharply by 44.28% compared to the same period last year, showing that coffee prices have increased significantly throughout 2024. Despite the increase in import prices and costs, coffee demand in Europe remains strong due to concerns about the new EUDR regulation, although the implementation date has been postponed to the end of 2024, causing the import rate to slow down somewhat.

World coffee prices today

Coffee prices on the world market fell sharply on both exchanges:

Robusta Coffee (London):

Delivery in July 2025: Down 90 USD/ton, to 5,323 USD/ton.

Delivery in September 2025: Down 93 USD/ton, to 5,272 USD/ton.

Arabica Coffee (New York):

July 2025 delivery: Down 8.5 cents/lb, to 401.55 cents/lb.

September 2025 delivery: Down 8.55 cents/lb, to 393.35 cents/lb.

Global coffee markets fell sharply across the board. Arabica prices hit a two-and-a-half month high on concerns about lower Brazilian output and steady demand despite higher retail prices.

Rabobank forecasts Brazil's arabica output in the 2025-2026 crop year will fall 13.6% to 38.1 million bags, as dry weather affects the flowering process of coffee trees.

Robusta prices, on the other hand, were under pressure as Rabobank forecast Brazil’s robusta output to rise 7.3% in the same period to a record 24.7 million bags. In addition, the Brazilian Real strengthened on April 28, reaching a three-week high against the USD, reducing the incentive for Brazilian producers to sell, contributing to supporting coffee prices.
