Accordingly, traders in the former Dak Nong region are buying coffee at a maximum of 115,000 VND/kg, a sharp decrease of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Similarly, the price of coffee in Dak Lak province is 115,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 2,000 VND/kg compared to yesterday.
Coffee prices in Gia Lai province decreased by 2300 VND/kg compared to yesterday and are trading at 114,500 VND/kg.
In Lam Dong province, the price of coffee decreased by 2,500 VND/kg compared to yesterday, reaching 114,000 VND/kg.
Coffee prices in the Central Highlands are expected to fall today, starting at 116,900 VND/kg. The main reason is the sharp drop in coffee prices on the London exchange at the beginning of the week, pressured by the US dollar and the strong rise in gold prices.
One notable point is that the price relationship between domestic and international coffee markets has reversed. Instead of being above the floor price as before, Vietnamese coffee prices in the new harvest are now trading at a lower level.
Currently, purchasing units typically base their prices on a floor price, then subtract various costs to calculate the purchase price in Vietnam.
Meanwhile, global markets are cautiously awaiting information on when the US government will resume operations after the budget impasse. On the supply side, the new harvest in Vietnam is underway amidst favorable weather conditions in both Vietnam and Brazil, with no unusual factors supporting a price increase.
