The family of the late artist Thuong Tin warns against donation scams.
Musician Tô Hiếu, representing the family, affirmed that they did not solicit donations for the tomb construction and urged the audience to be wary of misinformation on social media.
Following the passing of artist Thuong Tin, his family has officially issued a warning about individuals exploiting his name to solicit donations for fraudulent purposes. This information was shared by musician To Hieu, who was authorized by the family to speak on their behalf, on the evening of December 12th.
Confirming that no fundraising is being solicited.
Composer Tô Hiếu emphasized that his family did not solicit any financial or material support to cover funeral expenses or build a tomb for the late artist. Any appeals on social media are fake.
"To Hieu and his family are not soliciting donations, money, or material goods, including financial support for building a tomb for artist Thuong Tin. Any such solicitation is fraudulent," musician To Hieu affirmed. He also urged the public to exercise extreme caution and to report any fraudulent activities to the cybersecurity authorities for timely investigation and handling in accordance with the law.
The reason the family felt compelled to speak out is because some misinformation has appeared on social media, calling for donations to build a tomb for artist Thuong Tin, which has negatively impacted the family during this difficult time of mourning.
A solemn and private funeral will be held in the family home.
Artist Thuong Tin passed away at 6:50 PM on December 8th. His funeral was held solemnly by his family in his hometown of Phan Rang. According to musician To Hieu, he and Thanh Tung - Thuong Tin's son - traveled from Ho Chi Minh City to Phan Rang immediately upon receiving the sad news that night.
To ensure solemnity and privacy, the family did not allow photography, video recording, or livestreaming throughout the funeral. The procession took place on the afternoon of December 10th at the family cemetery in Hoa Thuy. Construction of the late artist's tomb was also carried out by the family immediately afterward.

Composer Tô Hiếu stated that he spoke on behalf of the family because artist Thương Tín's family lives a private life and does not want to cause a stir. He declined to comment on the absence of colleagues at the funeral.
"Currently, the family has taken care of the funeral arrangements and built a tomb for Thuong Tin. What Thuong Tin's relatives want is peace. That's also why the family doesn't allow filming, photography, or livestreaming at the funeral. They want Thuong Tin to pass away in a dignified manner," To Hieu shared. He hopes that the audience will respect this wish and not spread false information that could affect the late artist's family.
