Impersonating women to scam money in online games.
Pham Thien Minh, posing as a woman, participated in the online game "Three Kingdoms," then defrauded Mr. Khoi of 39 million VND before disappearing without repaying the debt.
The Investigation Police Department of Bac Tu Liem District (Hanoi) has successfully arrested wanted suspect Pham Thien Minh and transferred him to Hanoi for investigation into the crime of fraud and appropriation of property.
According to an investigator, in 2015, Vu Minh Khoi participated in the online game "Three Kingdoms," befriending and chatting with an account holder.
When Mr. Khoi asked if the account holder was male or female, the person identified themselves as a girl named Pham Thi My Luong from Duc Hoa district, Long An province.

This person also sent Khoi pictures of a very beautiful woman. Afterward, My Luong invited Khoi to invest in shrimp farming in Ca Mau. Because he was unfamiliar with the terrain and didn't understand shrimp farming, Khoi refused.
Unable to secure a joint investment from Mr. Khoi, My Luong then pleaded with him to lend her money for investment, promising to repay it by October 2015. Mr. Khoi agreed and lent My Luong 39 million VND.
However, when the repayment date arrived, My Luong disappeared, so Khoi went to the Bac Tu Liem District Police to report the incident.
During the investigation, the investigating agency identified the girl named My Luong as Pham Thien Minh (25 years old), residing in Tran Thoi commune, Cai Nuoc district, Ca Mau province.
On November 29, 2016, the Investigation Police Department of Bac Tu Liem District issued an order to initiate a criminal case and prosecute Pham Thien Minh for the crime of fraud and appropriation of property.
The Investigation Police Department of Bac Tu Liem District summoned Minh to the police station for questioning, but he quickly fled his residence. Even during Tet (Lunar New Year), when he heard that his father had broken his leg, Minh didn't dare return home for fear of being arrested.
After numerous summonses, Minh evaded capture and failed to appear, hindering the investigation. Therefore, on February 17, 2017, the Criminal Investigation Department of the Bac Tu Liem District Police issued a nationwide arrest warrant for Pham Thien Minh.
Through investigative measures, on February 21st, the Bắc Từ Liêm District Police discovered and arrested Phạm Thiện Minh while he was carrying documents to apply for a job as a factory worker in Đức Hòa District, Long An Province. He was then transported to Hanoi for further investigation.
