| Gas prices increased in September due to the impact of global imported gas prices. |
Saigon Petro, a limited liability company specializing in petroleum products, announced that effective September 1st, the price of Saigon Petro gas will increase by 16,000 VND per 12kg cylinder. This brings the retail price to consumers to 321,000 VND per 12kg cylinder.
Gas companies such as Pacific Petro, Citi Petro, and Elf Gas also increased prices by 16,000 VND per 12kg cylinder. The retail price to consumers will not exceed 329,000 VND per 12kg cylinder.
According to gas businesses, the increase in gas prices in September compared to August 2017 was due to the impact of the recently announced average world gas price of 490 USD/ton, an increase of 50 USD/ton compared to August 2017.
Therefore, domestic businesses have issued price adjustment notices to their branches, stores, and retail agents to ensure compliance with market regulations and protect consumer rights. Specifically, the new gas prices will take effect from September 1, 2017.
