Gas price increased by 16,000 VND per cylinder from September 1

This is the fourth time in 2017 that gas prices have increased sharply; with a total increase of 92,000 VND/12kg cylinder.

Gas prices in September increased due to the impact of world gas import prices.

Saigon Petro Company Limited (Saigon Petro) said that from September 1, Saigon Petro gas price will increase by 16,000 VND/12kg cylinder. Thus, the retail price to consumers is 321,000 VND/12kg cylinder.

Gas companies Pacific Petro, Citi Petro, Elf gas… also increased by 16,000 VND/12kg cylinder. Retail price to consumers does not exceed 329,000 VND/12kg cylinder.

The reason for the increase in gas prices in September compared to August 2017, according to business units, is due to the impact of the average world gas price in September just announced at 490 USD/ton, an increase of 50 USD/ton compared to August 2017.

Therefore, domestic enterprises have deployed the announcement of gas price adjustment to branches, stores, and retail agents, to ensure compliance with market rules and consumer rights. Specifically, the new gas price will be applied from September 1, 2017.
