This morning, January 16th, nationwide pork prices continued their upward trend, driven by the Central and Southern regions, with a common increase of 1,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the Northern market temporarily stabilized after a series of sharp increases, but still maintained its position as the region with the highest trading prices in the country, reaching 76,000 VND/kg.
Northern market: Maintaining peak price of 76,000 VND/kg
In the northern region, today's live pig prices remain unchanged after a period of sharp adjustments. All localities maintain the same purchase prices as yesterday. Currently, this region still has the highest price level in the country.
Specifically, a price of 76,000 VND/kg was recorded in a number of localities including Bac Ninh, Hanoi, Hai Phong, Ninh Binh, Dien Bien, and Hung Yen. The provinces of Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Quang Ninh, Lao Cai, Phu Tho, and Son La maintained transactions around 75,000 VND/kg. The lowest price in the region was 74,000 VND/kg, recorded in Lai Chau.
Central and Central Highlands regions: Widespread growth
In contrast to the stability in the North, pork prices in Central Vietnam and the Central Highlands this morning saw a wave of upward adjustments, increasing by 1,000 VND/kg in most provinces and cities. This upward trend has narrowed the price gap between regions.
- Thanh Hoa and Nghe An:Currently leading the region at 74,000 VND/kg.
- Dak Lak:The price has increased to 73,000 VND/kg.
- Ha Tinh:The price was recorded at 72,000 VND/kg after an increase of 1,000 VND/kg.
- Other provinces:Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, and Khanh Hoa all reached the 71,000 VND/kg mark.
Lam Dong province has slightly lower prices, fluctuating around 70,000 VND/kg.
Southern Vietnam: Market brightens, Tay Ninh reaches 70,000 VND/kg.
In the South, the positive trend continues to spread as many localities simultaneously increase prices. Notably, Tay Ninh adjusted its price upwards by 1,000 VND/kg, reaching 70,000 VND/kg, matching the prices in Dong Nai and Ho Chi Minh City.
In the Mekong Delta provinces, live pig prices in Dong Thap and Vinh Long both reached 69,000 VND/kg. Ca Mau and Can Tho also recorded similar increases, currently trading at 67,000 VND/kg. Despite a slight improvement, An Giang remains the province with the lowest price nationwide, pegged at 66,000 VND/kg.
