Strengthening measures to prevent and control African swine fever in Quang Ngai.

Besides price fluctuations, disease prevention and control are receiving special attention from local authorities. Specifically, Sa Loong Commune, Quang Ngai Province, has issued a document strengthening measures to prevent and control African swine fever. Local authorities have requested relevant units to intensify propaganda about the dangerous nature of the disease and biosafety measures.

The local Public Service Center is tasked with spraying disinfectant chemicals in livestock areas and closely monitoring the health of the animals. The declaration of an outbreak and the culling of diseased pigs (if any) must be carried out strictly in accordance with the regulations of the 2025 Veterinary Law. In addition, the Sa Loong Commune authorities in Quang Ngai province also require strict control over the transportation, slaughter, and restocking of livestock, especially prohibiting restocking in residential areas that do not meet safety standards.

To protect their pig herds, farmers are advised to regularly clean and disinfect their farms using lime powder or specialized chemicals. Feed, water, and breeding stock for restocking must be of a clear origin and have received all required vaccinations.
