On January 19th, live pig prices showed an upward trend in the central and southern regions, while the northern region remained stable at the highest price level nationwide, reaching 75,000 VND/kg.

The live pig market on January 19th continued its upward trend with a clear differentiation between regions. While the North maintained stable prices at high levels, pig prices in the Central and Southern regions recorded a slight increase, bringing the overall price level to its highest level since the beginning of the year.

Prices in the North remained stable at high levels.

In the northern region, the market did not record any new fluctuations compared to the previous trading session. However, this region still has the highest price levels nationwide, reflecting the limited supply amidst stable year-end consumer demand.

Specifically, the highest price in the region, 75,000 VND/kg, continues to be maintained in a number of localities such as Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Quang Ninh, Bac Ninh, Hai Phong, Lao Cai, Dien Bien, and Hung Yen. The provinces of Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Lai Chau, Phu Tho, and Son La traded 1,000 VND lower, at 74,000 VND/kg.

Prices increased across the central and southern markets.

In contrast to the stability in the North, the Central Highlands region recorded a slight increase of 1,000 VND/kg in some provinces and cities. Hue, Gia Lai, and Khanh Hoa all adjusted to 72,000 VND/kg, matching Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Da Nang, and Quang Ngai. Lam Dong also increased to 71,000 VND/kg. Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Dak Lak currently lead the region with a price of 73,000 VND/kg.

In the South, the upward trend was more pronounced in key localities. Dong Nai, Tay Ninh, Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh City, and Vinh Long all saw increases of 1,000 VND/kg, setting a new regional peak of 72,000 VND/kg. An Giang, despite a slight increase to 68,000 VND/kg, still had the lowest price nationwide.
