The live pig market recorded a simultaneous increase of 1,000–2,000 VND/kg across all three regions, bringing the highest purchase price to 76,000 VND/kg amidst improved consumer demand.

The live pig market today (January 20th) continues its strong recovery trend with widespread price increases across the country. Common price adjustments range from 1,000–2,000 VND/kg, reflecting an improvement in the supply-demand balance. Currently, traders nationwide are purchasing live pigs at around 68,000–76,000 VND/kg.

Pork prices today, January 20th: The market continues its upward trend across all three regions.

The northern region maintains the highest prices nationwide.

In the North, the market continued its slight upward trend in many localities, consolidating its position as the region with the highest prices nationwide, ranging from 74,000–76,000 VND/kg. Specifically, Cao Bang, Bac Ninh, and Hung Yen provinces all recorded an increase of 1,000 VND/kg, pushing the purchase price up to 76,000 VND/kg.

Many other key localities such as Thai Nguyen, Lang Son, Hanoi, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho, and Son La also saw slight increases, with prices currently trading around 75,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Tuyen Quang, Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Lao Cai, and Dien Bien provinces maintained stable prices. Lai Chau currently has the lowest price in the region, at approximately 74,000 VND/kg.

Central and Central Highlands regions expand widely.

Today, the Central and Central Highlands regions recorded a simultaneous increase of 1,000 VND/kg in many provinces and cities. The price level here currently fluctuates between 72,000 and 74,000 VND/kg. Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, and Dak Lak are leading the region with a price of 74,000 VND/kg.

Other localities such as Ha Tinh, Quang Tri, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai, and Khanh Hoa all traded around 73,000 VND/kg. Despite an increase of 1,000 VND/kg, Lam Dong still has the lowest price in the Central region at 72,000 VND/kg.

Southern market: Can Tho sees a sharp increase.

The Southern market today saw a remarkable surge, with purchasing prices ranging from 69,000 to 73,000 VND/kg. Most notably, Can Tho City recorded the strongest increase nationwide (2,000 VND/kg), bringing the price of live pigs to 71,000 VND/kg.

In key localities such as Dong Nai, Dong Thap, Ho Chi Minh City, and Vinh Long, the purchase price increased by 1,000 VND/kg, reaching 73,000 VND/kg – the highest in the Southern region. An Giang and Ca Mau also saw slight increases, reaching 69,000 VND/kg and 70,000 VND/kg respectively. Tay Ninh was one of the few localities that remained unchanged, maintaining a price of 72,000 VND/kg.
